Need Help - Blog Comments Are Killing Me

I was reviewing Webmaster tools for my blog and I noticed that I had a warning for 25 pages on the site with duplicate meta descriptions and title tags.

Digging a little deeper, I see that the duplicate descriptions and tags relate to 5 posts that have pages and pages of comments and when I look at the pages that Google is reporting as duplicate content, they are ......

http://site.com/post 1/comment page 2
http://site.com/post 1/comment page 3
http://site.com/post 1/comment page 4 etc....

This is the case with several aged, popular posts, and it seems to be affecting the site's performance.

Not sure how to handle it, but there seems to be a correlation between when these warnings were posted in Webmaster tools and a pretty good hit to traffic & rankings....

Can anyone help with some advice on how to handle this?

Thanks
Ski

I think this has nothing to do with the age of the postings. Google just wants that all page titles and META descriptions were original (not copy-paste of another page). Rewrite them all and you'll be ok.

They are not copy and pasted from anywhere; evry post is unique with a unique description & unique tags.....there are hundreds of comments for certain posts which are spilling over to pages 3, 4, 5 etc, making it appear as though there are multiple pages with duplicate tags and descriptions....
