Are You An Internet Marketing Newb or Noob? Do you know?
I see a lot of people who refer to themselves as newbies or newbs. I learned all about the difference while promoting MMORPGs. It fits perfectly with the types of IM newcomers and the problems some have.
Here is what the Urban Dictionary says: Urban Dictionary: noob
"Contrary to the belief of many, a noob/n00b and a newbie/newb are not the same thing. Newbs are those who are new to some task* and are very beginner at it, possibly a little overconfident about it, but they are willing to learn and fix their errors to move out of that stage. n00bs, on the other hand, know little and have no will to learn any more. They expect people to do the work for them and then expect to get praised about it, and make up a unique species of their own."
We are all familiar with Noobs, and some of the bonehead things they do and expect.
It's okay to be a newb (we all were at some time). But the success or failure you have in IM could very well depend on which kind of newcomer you are.
