I have hit a solid brick wall

So i heard about IM the first time 7 months ago. What followed was the usual newbie routine: lots of reading, lots of searching on the board instead of asking too many stupid questions. I slowly figured out where to start.

Since 4 months now i am trying to make money. I tried website flipping (i still think i want to do this), and had a very hard time breaking even... i think i'm down a couple bucks. However whenever i couldnt sell something i got rid of it @ DP for little more than the domain cost.

While flipping i started to experiment with autoblogging - i had like 10 with about 40 uniques per day each, but no sales (monetized with CBproADS). Again: sold each of it for about 10-20 bucks covering domain and hosting.

My latest try: public domain works. Great book by Kneb Knebaih in the WSO section btw! Downside is: i think i could make it work if i already had a source of income and could put longtime efforts in it. I try to make some money with selling PD works as PLR articles, but only one sale so far (expenses: $25 - e-junkie account + WSO fee).

The main problem is, that i have to establish the supply for the basic needs (rent, food and stuff). I am 22 atm and due to my laziness and ignorance in school, while not stupid or uneducated, i lack the good grades to get a proper job and i'm living from one job to the other in the past. My current job expires at the end of April and i have nothing new.

I want to use this opportunity to make it. I dont want $10k per month, just $500 would be enough to support my bills and such. I already was sometimes on the brink of saying "IM is all scam and shit", but then i got some results that kept me going... I just dont know what to do now. I really love website flipping - especially start-ups because i'm not good at driving traffic. But it looks like i can't sell anything lately. I realized that the only reason i sold websites in the past were because the Revolution themes (bought one and got one back when they were free). I tried flipping proxies and such, too. Without results.

Sorry for whining, but i had to tell someone and my family and friends don't understand a single word about what i try to do online. Thanks for listening. Maybe someone can push me in the right direction.

  • Well, I am not sure at how good at writing you are, but in the mean time to help keep your self afloat you can always write articles?

If you are not good at writing articles you can always do forum posting. People pay alot of money for people to post on their forums to help get their forums started. I mean if the forum allows signatures then you can easily promote some of your sites at the same time you are making money.

I'm no native english speaker, so writing GOOD articles is quite a challenge. I haven't put AdSense on the autoblogs because Google won't let me in -.-; plus Keith Kogane stated somewhere in one of his great threads that CBproADS is even better than AdSense.

    • Well, since you are not good at the articles, you can easily look into the forum posting position I mentioned.

This will help you get some money for your monthly bills as well as help promote your sites.

While I've never personally been in your position, I can absolutely appreciate the crossroads you're at.

Here's my advice: While you're waiting to figure out your place and position in this industry, why don't you give the black hat side a visit?
    • You'll hear that black hat isn't sustainable.
    • You'll hear that black hat will get you in trouble.
    • You'll hear that black hat is immoral.
But... you won't hear that from a black hat. What integrating black hat strategies into your marketing efforts forces you to do is dig into the very foundation of what makes certain sites on the web more profitable than others. If being a good marketer involves recognizing patterns in this funny, ephemeral industry of ours, then being a good black hat marketer is exploiting them while everyone else is thinking about ways to attack them.

    1) sign up for a few major CPA networks.
    2) find offers that fit the niches your sites are about.
    3) market research some underserved keywords for your niche
    4) re-tool your SEO on those sites for those keywords
    5) promote your affiliate offers on your sites
    6) write articles about your niches and use them to promote your sites and increase your traffic
    7) write supporting articles or ebooks or what have you as bonus material for your visitors, and start building an opt-in list.
    8) test, tweak, repeat everything that works and put aside everything that doesn't.

Stop setting your sights so low and thinking small. You won't even make $500 per month if that's all you actually shoot for. Shoot for $2000 per month in 3 months. Come here and tell us about it, how you plan on doing it. Keep coming back with your progress and receive 3 things from the forum: support, accountability, and help.

It's amazing what you can accomplish when you have a group behind you and you start believeing in yourself.

I haven't shown them an autoblog but a blog i posted personally on. The domain was more than 6 months old, it had a privacy policy and everything. Still they refused. However, AdSense should not be the end to all means. I will look into forum posting, thx for that tip.
