how to stop email in wordpress

hi can anyone tell me how to stop email in wordpress my site sending 12000 email in a day i dont know why please suggest

  • Is your Wordpress site sending emails to you, or sending emails to others (spamming) ?

    If you have your email address in the admin section, it will send you an email every time your site gets a comment or pingback.

    To change this, you can go into your Admin section. Go to Settings > Discussion and under E-mail me whenever, un-check the boxes.

    If your Wordpress site is spamming others, notify your host right away and have them help you.
  • Maybe you are receiving comments notification e-mails, you can turn it off in the options General --- Discussion.

    • Chances are, your Wordpress site has been hacked. You will want to get your host involved, they can take a look at your files and help you get the problem resolved.

      If you have vital information on your site, you can do an export of your Wordpress data inside your admin panel by going to Tools -> Export. Once you have the export done, you can probably delete the site and re-build.

      If this site is not really doing anything for you at the moment, you can delete the site and re-create it using your cPanel tools. Again, your host will be the best to help you with this.

  • Yeah get a hold of your hosting company, chat online, and see if there is any suspicious malware that was installed.
