"Want To Run Your Own Private Forum Section?"

Can you imagine all the brainstorms and mastermind groups discussing this right now!?

What's the first thing that popped into your mind when you saw this?

First thought was "How much is it to pay for a footer advertisement on the warrior forum?"

      My first thought:

"It will never happen at this forum."

My first thought was, No, not really, but thank you for offering.

My second thought was, I wonder if that warrior who did a poll on if we would like a content creator subforum was going to investigate this further.

      Yep ...probably worth it!

I went ahead and suggested a straight-up writing forum, and then differentiated the idea from the copywriting forum that we already have. We have hundreds of wannabe writers posting every single day, and I can usually pick out 1-2 per week that I think would benefit from just a little guidance. Sometimes I'll PM them and offer a little help, but I think a writing forum would do a lot of people a lot of good.

It wouldn't have to be strictly IM, either. Writing, outside of Kindle itself, takes on many forms, and I think it's a strong enough topic to finally get its own section. I can see the sub-sub forums now:

Warrior Writing World > Grammar Nazis
Warrior Writing World > SEO & Keyword Problems
Warrior Writing World > Non-Native English Speakers Self-Help
Warrior Writing World > Native English Speakers Self-Help

          You get the idea....
          Jason,

I like your thought processes and think that would be an awesome addition to the forum especially since "Why don't you offer writing services" is a growing trend of advice given to newbies when they ask what they could do.

To tell you the truth, I didn't even notice the footer link this morning. It was actually a post that drew my attention to Allen's thread and a post in that thread that drew my attention to the footer link. I'll blame it on the pre-coffe syndrome too. :p

Anyway, so that eliminated the first two steps you mentioned.

              CalinDan,

My apologies if you had nothing to do with the footer. It's text was the same as your thread title, so maybe I jumped the gun in assuming the footer was your doing.

I tend to not like adjustments to my viewing screen that I have nothing to do with.

I logged out of the forum, turned my computer off, and logged back in, and the footer is still there.

The footer link goes to an admin thread by Allen, and of course, he does what he wants in this neighborhood . . .

Yes, the thread title was a CTRL+V of the ad... I thought it was a good way to let people know what the thread was all about.

And yeah, this is Allen's 'hood', so everything's up to him.

                Kind regards,

Your idea could be another sub-sub-forum for it:

Warrior Writing World > Setting Up As A Freelancer
Warrior Writing World > Setting Up As A Full-Scale Service

              Haha!

Don't worry, I haven't sharpened my claws in quite awhile now. :p

But you know what? I think this would be a perfect private forum for you and I think you'd do very well with it. If you're seriously considering it, I would join.

Similar here ... not quite the same, in one key, outcome-determining respect: my third thought was "Do I really want to be involved, as part of my business, in an 'IM niche'?"

And, as ever, I can't quite bring myself to say "yes" to that, so that's why Allen didn't get a p.m. from me proposing "Lexy's Article Marketing Forum", entertaining idea though it may seem, in some ways.

That, and the fact that I like posting when I feel like it and want to be distracted from my work, and not so much "as an obligation".

But I'll be very interested to see the outcome(s) of this suggestion (in addition to the excellent Kindle forum we already have, of course).

How many threads will be posted about it. Followed by how much is he going to charge.

      Beware of this thread.

I bit on it and now I have an advertisement at the bottom of my screen here in the forum which says:

"Want to Run Your Own Private Forum Section?" Contact Me!

Self promotion results, that to me should not be happening.

No mate, it's not because of my thread.

The whole idea of the thread was to see what people's first thoughts were on the advertisement... I found it quite intriguing myself (I have nothing to do with it).

Stay cool, you didn't 'bit' anything...

I saw it around 2 AM, and haven't seen it since. I assume it's a "one time" viewing thing.

              Jason,
Mine's been there all day, Paul. I bet it's just because Allen thinks you smell funny and doesn't want you clicking on it. :p

My guess is that it'll disappear if you log out and back in again. But I don't do that ... oh no.

I tried logging out and then back in, but it is still there.

Maybe if you log out, clear your cache, then log back in, it might work.

I'm not going to try it though as the footer really doesn't bother me.
