This is pretty much my view on this as well.

So, yeah I've been driving on the wrong side of the road a couple of times. But I got off the highway at the right time and ventured into more populated areas.

I would not call it "Fail", more like an expensive/inexpensive lesson to be learned from. With each setback it is hopeful that you learn from it and grow from the mistakes to make you a better entrepreneur. Being an entrepreneur is to be a problem solver. So a business is always a constant learning curve.

I haven't "FAILED" I've made websites that have failed, but when I first started IM I made a blog using blogspot. I invested $12 on in a domain then worked my but off for 3 months! After them 3 months I made $6000 between feb-july! After this I made other sites.. some failed some did not. Now Im back to having one website and I'm doing well with it! I seriously think if you stick to one thing.. it will work out for you. I only work one hour per day now.. but im still online for 4+ hours per day.. maybe I should do something with my spare 4 hours.

So long as a person keeps pushing, there hasn't been any element of failure until you give up completely.

Zouras, you need to change your MINDSET. In life there are no failures - only FEEDBACK. Take the feedback on board and move forward. The only time you fail is when you ignore the feedback and quit.

A better way to phrase your question would be, "what did it take for you to succeed online?"

Me saying I failed 10 times before I hit the motherload will not inspire anyone. Edison messed up 1000 times before he invented the Light Bulb.

What will educate the new comers, is sharing the lessons we learnt from our mistakes.

So how about we ask: "What lessons did you learn from your 'failures' and how did you use them to change track and succeed?"

My big problem as a newbie was that I wasn't educated in traditional marketing.

Internet Marketing is really a reapplication of traditional marketing principles.

I remember getting 40 hits on my first website from a £150 newspaper ad and wondering why didn't I make a sale. Looking back I know exactly why I didn't make the sale.

I learn new lessons every day and I share my lessons with my students. The greatest marketers are also those who remain committed to being a student of marketing, for life.

I consider each year a failure until I have earned one million dollars...Lol jk

But seriously, If you are able to earn enough to be able to work online full-time then imo

you are not a failure. The only way to fail is to give up

    mbacak said it spot on.

Its all part of this game. Better to fail first, then to have home runs, and the do something stupid.

I know people are looking to get help from people who failed first. Or looking to start a business that will not fail at the start. This will not happen.

    What about Mr Thomas Edison.

He failed...what? like 999 times before he got that damn lightbulb working LOL

    Persistant little bugger he was!

Imagine if he gave up at 998, or the 999th try....someone else would have beat him to it.

Failing is a part of everything, sports, relationships, business, etc, just have to accept it and learn from it each day, and keep pressing on.

I've failed MANY times. I have not yet achieved my goal but I continue to work toward it because I know that you should never give up on your dreams. Also, I think these quotes pretty much sum it up:

"Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently."

    -Henry Ford

"Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm."

    -Winston Churchill

There are no failures in this world. Only people who have yet to succeed. As what Thomas A. Edison said,

I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.
Be motivated and stay on your own course till you succeed.

Hundreds of "failures" each one a step closer to success. I had to fail. It was the only way. If I never did, I wouldn't have learned anything. There are some things that can't be bought or found in any ebook, software, or program.

It's just like with anything else in life. Wisdom comes from experience alone.

But "failed"? Not once - because I haven't stopped learning and growing from all of those wonderful (and sometimes harsh) "teachers" I've encountered along the way!

I failed multiple times before I successfully made a full-time living online. I look at failures is a good thing because I am always learning from my failures.

All top end marketers will try things that don't work, even people like Richard Branson have had businesses and projects which are failed. The important thing is to learn from your failures.

Back in 2008 when I first tried Google adwords my first 8 campaigns did not make money but my ninth campaign ended up making me over $200 a day profit. If I'd given up after trying seven campaigns I never would've succeeded

if your still alive you haven't failed. Keep at it, my advise is to set a certain time line with goals, and if you don't reach a certain position by a certain point move on and change courses. Maybe your success lies somewhere else, you wouldn't even know.

I started as an engineer and ended up doing IM which lead me to start a successful business in the retail/product/distribution side. Now i use all the skills and lessons I learned throughout the year for each of my business.

    When I tried marketing to:

    video game download niche: failed
    secret shopper niche: failed
    court records niche: failed

But when I started marketing to niches that actually WANTED to spend money....and weren't just looking for freebies...I started pulling down some BIG money.

    Good learning experience for sure.

because of this, Ive gained a mountain of knowledge and I make profit every month from my online assets.

I've made my share of mistakes. That's for sure. I've been at this for over a decade and it always changes. My main problem areas were doing too much at one time and not delegating work to others. Trying to do it all yourself will burn you out fast. My business became more successful when I stopped doing it all and started managing others doing the work. Plus, my hair isn't turning gray nearly as fast! You will always make mistakes but as long as you keep trying you have not failed you are simply learning.

Failure has such a powerfull word, and has some many definitions..

For me a failure is a project that I invested enough money and time - 1k$ or more,
And stop wroking on him, without return my money,

Then I can say I failed 3-4 times..

After the my big faulire I stoped IM for one month, I was in shock, but after that I started again, failed agian, and tried again, and now I am starting to see success..

      Good Luck

It ended up costing me about a thousand dollars in lost orders before I realized it.
