After a quite a few hours put in my eyes get dry as heck. It can make it increasingly difficult to get work done as time carries on.

Any tips and ideas?

  • This is nothing profound, but make sure you look away from the screen frequently. Also, search for "eye relaxation exercises" and you'll find some good tips. One simple exercise is to simply close your eyes and cover them with your palms for a few seconds every so often.

You can also buy screens that you put over the monitor that can reduce glare.
  • I asked my eye doctor the same question and he gave me an
eye drop called Systane. You can get it at any drugstore over the
    counter.

    Hope this helps,

Apparently these make your eyes squint and hence encourage tear-duct action. Hope this helps.

  • I have the same problem since I spend most of the day in front of the computer. I try to take about 3, 5min. breaks every hour away from the screen. Go to a window and focus on something far away for a bit. You can also try adjusting brightness and contrast on your screen, depending on the time of day and the brightness of the surroundings.

That f.lux software that Nio93 mentioned looks like it's worth a shot.
    Think I'll try it.
  • do not be too long in front of the computer
