Hey,

I'm starting on editing my first eBook and I am feeling really exited.

This project has actually been in progress for 1 and a half years but I didn't really take much action for the project itself until recently. Instead I've kind of wondered off into the marketing aspects even though I didn't have a product.

Through these periods I have found that I might be the best procrastinator ever. But I've also learn so many things and I'm sure it's just a part of learning.

But I am also deciding whether to do something different than a eBook. Because this topic has a lot of information in it, I am starting to think it would be better if I organized the information into detailed articles.

Here's all the pros and cons I can think of for each format:

eBook

Pros
- Keeps it in progress (like a journey)
- People won't miss out on information as they have to read from page 1 to the end
- Won't be overwhelming because it is actually going to be multiple eBooks

Cons
- Might give information overload (like most IMers)
- Might get boring
- eBook is basically a collection of articles and might look cheap (but then again which book isnt?)

Articles

Pros
- Organized and easy to navigate
- Not boring
- Can go into deeper detail
- Can manage all the information easily

Cons
- Readers might miss out on info (unless somehow i make them read all of the articles)
- It's not set out like a journey which makes it less effective (I think)

Fellow Warriors, PLEASE HELP ME OUT HERE. I NEED ADVICE FOR WHICH FORMAT TO CHOOSE!!!

THANKS

Wow, 1.5 years? You're a great procrastinator and a patient person. Anyway good luck with the ebook, if you ever release or try to sell it. Although success cannot be measured by the money you get, I just hope you achieve what you set out to attain with the ebook

I have tried selling ebooks, the experience is not exactly pleasant, it is one thing to have little demand or sales, it is completely another thing when all people do is ask for free reviews and no one really pays for it. I guess either the ebook is crap or my marketing skills and methods are below average, will try to brush up on all of that.

So, just hope that you don't put too much hope onto a single ebook, there are internet marketers who have released dozens of info products, and their accumulated monthly incomes come from a dozen small sources, really. It is rather hard to come up with a high selling and high profits products immediately. If this one doesn't get you the right results, learn, rinse and repeat, hopefully success will one day be yours.

    Hey,

    Thanks for your replies guys.

I get what you mean, but I don't really need any help with SEO and this info product is actually going to worth its money so I don't think it would be good if I were to give out pieces of my product to attract customers. Thanks for your help.

1.5 years... Yea. But I learned so much during my procrastination of my project so it was kind of worth it (but it would of been better if I had a product so I could follow through on the things I learn't).

This isn't a WSO or a eBook for digital point so that doesn't matter.

As for whether it is going to succeed... I am so certain that this will make it bank (and I mean a lot of $$$ MONAY) (I MEAN LIKE GUARANTEE 100% INFINITE% 1+1=2 CERTAIN THAT IT WILL SUCCEED). Thanks anyways.

PLEASE GIMME GIMME MORE SUGGESTIONS PLEASE THANKS.

No way. I'm not giving up my crown without a fight.

I'm doing the ebook/article thing hand in hand at the moment. Here's what I'm doing...

    1. Write articles to lead visitors to a (free) ebook. In return I build a list.

    2. Use the ebook to presell an affiliate product.

    3. Use follow up emails to promote this and other affiliate products.

    4. Eventually write the mother of all ebooks to promote to both my subscribers, new visitors, and hopefully other affiliates.

    5. Retire.

OK, apart from number 5, that's my plan at the moment.

    Good luck, fellow procrastinator!

Yes, I think it more effective wayto make money from ebooks rather than selling them. I am planning to do the same. Build list by giving it free. At the same time place affiliate lins in the ebook. Also, you can sell some ad spaces on that ebook as well.

If you have that much content I would recommend compressing the ebook down into the the really juicy content (make it as valuable as you can) and use the rest of the content to use as articles to promote it. That way you get lots of sales and lots of happy customers

You can make money through your ebook. I think ebook is much more better than articles with it comes to money making, because you have the hold on the promotion of your ebook so that it can generate more revenue. Hence, you can write an article that would also promote your ebook so that there will be a great outcome in the end.
