Content Writing : It is about time that it is taking over IM !

You know it is a blessing with all the Panda and Penguin updates by Google. Google has made it overtly clear that it wants Quality written content that is useful to their end users.

This entails no more spammy adsense sites, or auto blogging Amazon Sites as well as ridiculous squeeze pages that are solely based on getting names and then bombarding these individuals with stupid affiliate products with every email ! And with no substance in these emails like really talking with these individuals and learning what they need, their obsessions etc...

I think it is a great thing and a win-win situation for everybody; at least those who want to embrace it.

If you cannot write useful content that engages your audience and makes them wanting to come back for more then you need to start practicing and getting better at it or outsourcing to people who can write. That's the BOTTOM LINE !

There is just no way around it. Change is necessary and once people get over the initial bumps and bruises change can be so beneficial.

Good, helpful content is one variable that will never, never get old in Google's eyes and will never get old in your own audience and customer's eyes !

Get used to that notion, folks. If you don't you will not even be in the game or for that matter not even on the sidelines

I think that content was always the king. While you can still see spammy adsense websites here and there, it's not nearly as it was before.

I would go on to say that it may even "level the playing field" a bit for newcomers to the industry; they would not have to compete with well-established automation mechanisms that can outperform their efforts a thousand-to-one.

Since many new people normally make the mistake of erring on the side of "perfection", there would be a natural tendency to get "quality" out over quantity. After this, it just becomes a matter of scaling the quality!

      Op,

"If you cannot write useful content that engages your audience and makes them wanting to come back for more then you need to start practicing and getting better at it or outsourcing to people who can write. That's the BOTTOM LINE !"

While I don't disagree that writing useful content is important, it is not the only way that a business can be successful and it's NOT the bottom line as you suggest.

What about content that isn't written, like images, video, audio, curated news and entertainment, user posted content and a bunch of other non-writing ways that content can be presented to an audience?

Being a good writer yourself or outsourcing writing are not the only ways to give an audience content that Google will love.

Steve brings up a good point, but high quality content is always desirable.

Yeah that's why I said, "Good, helpful content is ONE variable that will never, never get old in Google's eyes......

Of course video, audio, syndication and the likes are inclusive in that.
They are very effective for overall success in online. You need to have those and take advantage of them.

Having said that, I must make it clear that the 'written word' in my opinion is more powerful than any other tool used in IM.

People should realize these days that content needs to be unique or they are not going to get much traffic.

Good point discrat! Couldn't agree more!

People who need more successful content should also abandon keyword-stuffing their articles. Instead of trying to fill a 400 word post with 5 phrases repeated 5 times, they should make content that flows more naturally around only a few placements of a priority keyword phrase.

Then again, people who don't realize what credibility has to do with sustainable value will soon be thinned from the herd.

Google's algo updates wiped a lot of writing revenue off the table; but in the long run I think it's better for dedicated writers and publishers - and their traffic.

As a freelance writer who has always loved what I do and really care about what type of content I turn out, I feel good about the google changes. I was appalled to open up a document to read garbled words that made no sense at all. I see less of that lately.

Still it will take a lot of people to realize that they actually need quality content on their websites. And some website owners do not make enough money to hire good quality writers. Either way, thanks for letting us know!

Content is KING. But it doesn't always have to be written. As long as you take the time to build a relationship and actually engage your subscribers with useful stuff you'll be good to go.

But it's not just an educational thing. People will get bored quick. Entertain a little. I just did a contest for my subscribers and my list is super-tiny (only 41 people) but I still ran a contest and even got a few subscribers from it. I think people that weren't only my list watched the video and then opted in. They must've. I wasn't do any other marketing.

Anyway, yes content is KING but it's not always written.

Content will always be KING, Robert!

Although I hate Google for their animal updates, I also admire them for making the playing field more level.

Marketers should ONLY compete on the quality of their content, rather than the number of backlinks they can get.

If you are new to Internet Marketing, then just follow this golden rule:

    "Give & You Shall Receive"

Create quality content and sooner or later, the money will follow.
