Created ClickBank Product in Smoking Hot Niche... but it's not successful

hey,

I've got a clickbank product at Power Home 4 Free

It's been online for exactly 1 week now and has made $1100 in sales - both from me and affiliates. However I've spent about $1100 in PPC costs - testing out 100's of keywords in search of the good converting ones.

I tried my hand at the content network campaign, spent about $50 on it with $0 return so I paused it. I was promoting on the keywords that converted in my search campaign.

I don't know what to do - how can I make this profitable?!!

Having been doing affiliate marketing for over a year now, I feel like I know what I'm doing - but clearly there's more to learn when you're a merchant.

So if anyone can help me out, I'd be greatly appreciative.

    Alex, have you done any split testing with a new headline?

    The typo in it caught my eye straight off the bat - and then when it was there again in the first paragraph - same thing.

    I'd try on a new headline and see if that doesn't help. Maybe brush up that copy a bit too - there are some great copy experts on here who should be able to help with pointers on that.

    For the headline - I'd focus less on the eco-friendly and more on the WIIFM - what's in it for me - ie: propane is more than $2 a gallon, heating oil's getting near $6 - how much do you want to spend to heat your home this winter, etc...

      Why not test the market with bum marketing. $1100? That is way too much too spend to just break even. Try some bum marketing like article marketing... and video marketing on free sites like youtube, google video, metacafe, etc.

      PPC? That is just targeting traffic the expensive way. Why not utilize some traffic exchanges, build a list in the niche... warm that list up by building a relationship, and then promoting this product. You could tease them with quick details about in between free content you send them.

      This would be a lot more profitable than spending all your money on PPC.

          Celente shared most of the stuff and I must say those are excellent tips you must follow.

          Maybe I can share how.

          Testimonials: You can ask for reviews. Give away 10 free copies in WF and see who want to help review. They may be in the same niche as you and it is a form of free publicity for them to have their url on your sales page.

          Headline: You need to rephrase it. Asking "Do you..." is a close-ended question. If yes, maybe they will read on. If no, away they go to other sites. *end of story

          Bonuses: You can create your report or buy PLR books or reports. Get them with ecovers so that you can offer to the buyers and they can see WHAT they are getting.

              here is another tip.

              1) if you are newbie get the most qualified traffic for free before you go paid.

              why?

              well if you use something like articles first (nice and qualified if you get your articles right)
              you can get a serious look at your response on opt ins and conversions.

              Once you get this right you can get your targeting down packed even more and start your PPC campaigns, and then tweak them even more with an evil genius plan I wont reveal here! but you get this as targeted as you can and use some negative qualifiers if you have to and the money will flow in guaranteed...just like a baby is guaranteed to poop his / her diaper....LOL

              its automatic......thats so powerful....

              I once went on a holiday after I set up a killer adwords campaign, and even though I spent craploads on my cruise I came home with more money in my pocket than when I went out on my voyage.....

              when you can do that you are set for life....seriously this is so powerful except only about 5% of marketers impliment it and understand it!

              2) show proof!

              when you buy something what is that annoying burning question in the back of your skull!

              what the hell, is this a scam?

              thats right it has been there and is the normal emotion since the first product was sold probably in the 1700's or something. *shrugs shoulders*

              but the number one thing that will convince someone in their mind that you product is better than anyone elses is PROOF....even if their wife tells them not to buy and it is crap..... they need proof.

              If you can show them that you have the [MAGIC BULLET + OFFER PROOF = $$ A SALE FOR U $$ ]

              Seriously once you give them proof and show them it has already worked for joe blogs the SALE IS YOURS! no matter what anyone on the street will tell them.

              It works wonders.....so use it!

          Your goal should be to attract tons of affiliates and have them spend their money/time while you give them a nice commission rate, make sure that your commission is pretty high, make sure that you offer tons of tools so they can use and try to always update your tools and site. This has worked wonders before and it can help you as well, you are on clickbank and need to attract an army of affiliates.

              You have a great niche. Heed the advice of the above, even if it is a bit harsh. Business is business. Then I would put the price right on the page, don't make your visitor make a click just to find out the price. If you really don't want to put the price on your salespage then at least don't put pop-ups between the sales page, and the price page. It's to easy to click off someplace else.

                I have to agree with that statement. Every page that has done this, has done nothing but pissed me off. Josh Anderson's Transparent Player site does this... and I was not happy. I had to put false information in on the first screen to see what the price I would be paying. I still believe his product is good... but that part of not putting the price on the first page... or making it easily accessible left a bad taste in my mouth.

                Some marketers believe a customer will enter their information and then just go on and click buy once they see the price. That would never be the case for me unless I was just absolutely in love with the product.

                Best look in the Joint Venture section and let the affiliates do the work i would consetrate on signing up affiliates rather than flogging you product your self...

    I have created many of these sort of sites and make about 300 - 900 a day doing so!

    so please take the following as aahhhh errr positive critisism...ok....

    HERE GOES :-

    1) i got to the website thinking whoa...nice...nice....ahhh okk....hmmmm jeeeez ok....IM GOING...this seems like crap.

    you have nothing really proping this up and getting me ravelled in what you are selling. Dear friend yada yada...yawn....this is crap dude...seriously be different! you grabbed attentention now reel me in give me the benefits and close the sale.

    You website does none of this.

    for the love of christ you have no optin and not even building a list....are you serious about making money on this site...i mean COMON!

    2) you beneift are crap....you say this and that....but you really need to get into your prospects mind what are their age their family like....their spending habit on electricity.....their goals....their dreams.....their aspriations....what is their perfect day.... and please dont just say ...to save on their electricity.

    no and not just to wake up and not rely on the stinking elec commision to feed them their power.

    3) you are obviously not ready for PPC. WHY i shut mine down if I have spent over $100 and cannot see any profit to show. set daily limits, test, test and GUESS WHAT test again.

    I have been able to increase profits by $2000 - 3200 just on 1 campain by doing this

    - using targeted keywords
    - paying a bit more
    - studying other successful ads on google and yahoo
    - setting daily limits
    - running ads only during certain periods through the day (not just idiotically run for 24 hrs)
    - TEST, TWEAK, TEST, TWEAK
    - Set up too ads that are completely different and compete against eachother. then use the best result and ramp it up.

    it if not working then dont keep letting it run...seriously are you smoking crack!

    Start with your copy and the offer itself they both stink you have to make the person go....WHOA..crap I better not leave without buying. You DONT do this. Actually its a pretty bad effort to say the least.....sorry to break it to you but it needs work.

    I just did quick survey of your market (viewing blogs and forums, etc etc)and your bullet points dont really meet 0.0002% of what you target market wants.....thats what probably made me want to click away.

    you need to build a list and ask them what they want to know about. you know costs, pros cons, constraits, long term affects short term benefits, yada yada.....

    I dont think you did this....to be successful in any niche you need to do this...

    you just did step one 1) HAVE A GOOD MARKET! ok who cares!

    what about step two

    2) ask them what they want/

    then there is step three

    3) give it too them!

    4) add more bonuses that make them want purchase even more.

    5) show the benefits and real results of someone using your product and succeeding

    then there is

    6) SHow them more people using them and succeeding them and use real testimonials (you have none)

    ok by now i giving you enough to bring in 500% the profit that you have already...and you are probably so pissed off at the way I write that you want to head butt your screen.

    I dont give a crap i am just trying to help and show you how I have become so successful with my niches......hopefully this will give you some steps to take in the next few weeks.

    Get to work and good luck...it (this site) has a lot of potential but you have ALOT of REAL HARD work ahead of you....IT SUCKS at the moment so get to work.

        I dont mean to offend you, but the only reason I was successful was because people broke it down and told me here the same way I am doing it to you.

        Just test and trial....then test and trial again...thats why so many people fail in the first place.....

        newbies try one thing and fail..and go back to their miserable job.....

        I am glad I was not one of them.

        You are half way there....

        if I was blunt good....it will make you take action.....if you follow my advice you will prosper! I promise you that!

        These are the things that make all my 7 niches successful. (14k a month) So i guess I know a bit what I am talking about....thats up to you to decide but.

        I once asked a guru what I can do to take my business to 7k a month and he said :-

        More products & more affiliates...

        but at this stage it is more about getting your product right before moving on!

    You just said it: TESTING OUT.
    So it's time to elminate the badly converting keywords.
    Write some more ads for split testing.
    Add extra traffic sources.
    Test your copy. Order link, testimonials, headline, guarantee
    For the content network, try searching for some targeted sites that run adwords, or other advertising, and approach them specifically, via Adwords or otherwise.
