Not sure exactly what you're asking, but yes, I make a good living exclusively from Clickbank. I promote as an affiliate and I am a vendor. The two income streams combined do well for me.

As for the "how many affiliates" part of your question...not sure how to answer that. Could you clarify please?

I was until a year or so ago. I now do Amazon and a few other little things too (just trying to diversify) but for well over 2 years I was making a living exclusively from ClickBank, and it's still over 85% of my income.

Nearly 30, now, altogether. In 8 different, unrelated niches.

Only after working out very carefully the average length for which product/service-subscribers continue paying. Obviously I can't afford to promote anything to my own subscribers which "most people don't continue long-term". It would cost me a fortune in potential future sales to the same people. Credibility and trust are built up very gradually and slowly, but can be shattered in an instant, if you choose unwisely and promote something from which "most customers drop out after a month or two".

      Alexa ,

in all the posts I've seen you reply to , the recurring theme is to post good content.

How do you come up with enough quality content for 8 different niches?

Are you that qualified in 8 different unrelated fields that would make people regard you as an authority figure and trust you enough to buy something based on your opinion?

I'm finding it tough enough just trying to pick one niche where I have enough skills that I think I can market as someone that is qualified to be an expert. Then trying to find a product on clickbank that I could promote honestly as something I believe in.

I've been reading jarret's thread here
      http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...-friendly.html

doesn't look like anyone is concerned about actually using the product they intend to promote. The other thread I started , everyone was saying "buy the product , you can't review the product if you've never used it"

Enough content for any niche, for me, is 3 articles per month.

So, for my 8 niches, I need 24 articles per month. This isn't beyond me. (Well, sometimes it feels like it, but let's gloss over that, for the moment! ).

Article marketing isn't about how many articles you have: it's about who reads them
        .

        Not just
based on my opinion. It's more than that. And this is the point. It's based on the relationship I've built with them as part of my overall continuity process, further described here: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post6123982

        Yes, product-selection is very time-consuming, I agree.

I've spent many hundreds of hours on it.

There are 15,000 products there, but I've found about 30 I can promote, and I don't doubt there are 30 more, too.

I would never promote anything I haven't seen. Sometimes I'll buy it. Often, I'll talk the vendor into giving me a free copy. There are suggestions on how to do that in this post: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post3641838

The "Penguin update" was a change to Google's ranking algorithms, made earlier this year. Very briefly, it introduced an "overoptimization penalty" which heavily penalizes websites which have spammy backlinks, mass non-relevant backlinks, automated software backlinks, and so on. It did some big favors to those of us with only quality, relevant backlinks, though, by effectively taking the spammers and many of the "backlink-service-buyers" out of our way.

I operate in 4 different niches and offer a mix of different products - some are offered on Clickbank, most are not.

About one third of my income was coming from clickbank. Since Penquin, my clickbank income has diminished about 70% .. However, I have replaced some of that with other income sources though.

clickbank is good.......be original and you will do ok. do not follow what everybody else is promoting. go after weird stuff and you will do ok.
if you see something being advertised on the radio or tv over and over again. find related product and promote them. they did the research for you already.

Clickbank is an excellent medium to work with. I know plenty of people who make a living with clickbank, some of them have become very wealthy. I'd recommend creating your own products vs. promoting an offer that someone else owns. It is imperative that you start building a list in whatever niche you plan on working in.

Hey, I have a question. What is your most successful method of promoting on CB? Do you guys have a list, websites or what?

    Thanks

The number of vendors that i promote are directly correlated to the kind of product that i'm looking to offer to my list. And it's not big. I target primarily "1-sale" affiliate products. I use recurring billing products in my business as a "paper and ink" offline newsletter.

ive made money here and there with clickbank as an affiliate and as a vendor.

as an affiliate I profited with a skin care digi book that I had going on my skin care site. but I sold that site. click bank doesnt seem to convert well in the other niches I was in at the time.

as a vendor I had a video course teaching people how to make diaper cakes for baby showers but youtube became rampant with similar videos so I decided to release my videos to my baby shower audience for free and as opt-in bait.

These days I profit exclusively from hostgator and shareasale

I made my living exclusively from Clickbank from 1999-2005. Advertised with adwords to promote only 2 or 3 products in the same niche. Was spending $2000-$3000 a month with adwords but was making very good income. Then the game changed and it became very expensive to advertise with adwords as an affiliate. It was fun while it lasted but wouldn't be able to live off of my income from Clickbank now.

I have been making my living from clickbank in these niches.

    - Health
    - Wealth
    - Relationships

stick to those and you will do well if you have good offer.

Remember there are lots of affiliates ready to promote your offers too if they are killer.

Again it comes down to not wasting your time on facebook, reading emails, and on the forums, and making sure you are creating products and sell them. Time managment.

I would not say I am making a KILLING on clickbank, but doing very well. It all comes down to hard work and perseverance.

Although not a significant percentage of my income, I promote Clickbank products mainly for building niche lists as a precursor to selling high end affiliate products such as from Amazon. Currently I'm promoting a little over 300 Clickbank products in 68 niches. Since recurring billing is not a fit for my marketing model, I categorically avoid such products as well as those with subscriber opt-in forms, high gravity, over-hyped sales pages, and other winnowing criteria.
