Those of you that left a job to do this full time..

For those of you that left a 40 - 100k job to do this full time do you regret it? Were you happier working with a bunch of people in a big company or are you happier doing what you do now?

Did you wait until your income was replaced to do so?

Just curious what the full-time earners are doing these days and how they feel about it. Any one that is doing between 40 - 100K+ annual and is primarily working for themselves online is who I am asking about.

I'm glad that I quit working for others and started my own business. I have much more free time to put into my online efforts thanks to it and I work longer and harder online. If only my on line efforts generated 10 - 15% of what I earn offline. I'm lucky that I have a real business that supports my internet addiction and online revenue is steadily increasing bit by bit.

    Cheers,
    Steve

Took the leap about a year ago. Had gradually built up my online income over the previous eight years. Am I glad to be finally free? Hell yes!

8 years?!? Wow, you worked you butt off to make it happen then and put your time in for sure. Great work!

Ideally, in my opinion you need to make much more on your own versus as an employer to balance thins out. Given the benefits, 401k, health etc that goes along with a full time job. I know many that have jumped and would never look back. Im just curious who has, as I have not.

When I started full time, the Internet "bubble" had just burst and along with that, my contract positions went, so it wasn't my choice. I've been working for myself ever since and love it, but NO ... if I had a full time job, I would not just up and quit it until I had already replaced my income and had savings in the bank for emergencies.

I resigned from my full time banking job in May 2012.
Here is my thread on WF about my resignation from my banking job and entering IM on full time basis.

    http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...my-job-im.html

I am thankful to God that I have doubled my net income from my dating sites since I resigned. I have never looked back [though its only few months] But I am sure that I will never look back to 9 -5 job.

I am glad I am working full time in IM... enjoying it a lot and more important I am my own boss now... I have more free time to do what ever I want....

and more important I am no more scared of getting late to work .. wow ..wo la la

Got laid off back in June and been full time ever since.

    I couldn't be happier.

You'll have to drag me back kicking and screaming to get me working another desk job.

I recently went full time just this past May. It's about six months later; I'm doing better than I ever thought possible. I'll never go back to working for anyone else ever again. I think that within 2 years I'll actually exceed my former earnings (earning about ~70% of what I did at the 9 to 5 already, and trending upward).

I've brought my girlfriend into the freelancing world as well, and also my older mother, (who has a degree in journalism) who is tickled pink that she can be earning some serious money writing comfortably whilst she relaxes at home in her pajamas through the magic of sites needing well written content post Panda/Penguin.

Maybe I've drank the Kool-Aid or something, but in my opinion if you're not learning how to transition towards working for yourself, you're the one that's crazy these days.
