Ebook Name HELP!! "Lice On Ice!" or "Lights Out Lice!"

Ok, my ebook is almost complete, and I am torn between 2 names...its an ebook about how to kill lice easily! I am also going to get my site designed for a mini-site design, so if you have any visual concept ideas for the header, I am all ears....

So which name do you like better for the ebook...

1) "LIghts Out Lice! with a lightbulb or flood light...or something like that and a photo of a scary looking lice for the site design maybe??
or

2) "Lice On Ice" with an iceburg, frozen lice kind of theme for the site design....

Thanks Guys!

Sheila

Lights Out Lice abbreviates to LOL! Not sure if you want that.

Lice on Ice sounds like a Disney ice skating show is coming to town.

I'd like the Lights Out Lice better, except for the LOL, which may not be good. Imagine the potential for bad reviews! Lights Out Lice? LOL! No, instead try...

Did you have any other ideas?

Lice Assassin! Okay, I think I like Lice Assassin!

          I like LIce Out.

I did some keyword research and looked at your competition real quick and from an SEO stand point...I like Lice Out.

Your biggest competitor is Rid Lice Removal Products.

The two phrases that they get most of their traffic from is:

How to get rid of lice

          and...

          Get Lice Nits Out

I think the title of Lice Out can compete with those phrases that bring Rid a lot of their traffic.

I guess the reason I am leaning toward something with ICE in it...is I am thinking of how my site can be designed to look very catchy and exciting...i was thinking of icicles or icy themed site...and ICED LICE...or similar would let me do that...

by the way, there is a product already called "Lice Ice" a topical ointment....so I can't be super close to that...

but mines an ebook...so should be ok.

As the father of a 12 year old girl w/ long hair who is struggling w/ this problem, concentrate more on your solutions rather than the title.

Every parent in my neighborhood and her school has been battling this issue, and its not an easy problem to overcome.

My daughters doctor even said to expect a long and difficult road ahead, as all of the typical OTC and home remedies just don't work anymore. They (the bugs) have developed a strong immunity to these solutions. She (the doctor) said the ONLY thing that works these days is a prescription oral pill, which they only prescribe as an absolute last resort because of its strength and side effects.

If you can provide an e-book with a PROVEN easy solution to this, it will go viral in an instant and you'll get more sales than you can count, regardless of the title of your e-book. I guess this is another vote for the typical 'content is king'.

I think there's some overthinking going on here.

Sheila needs a good CATCHY ebook name that's CLEARLY understood.

Personally I think "Lights Out Lice" is perfect.

Yes, assassin is an oft-used term for internet marketers, but not so with the general public. Lights out certainly is. While I definitely see some clever ones here, I just don't think they're good titles.

The only other simple, clear name I can think of is:

    The Guaranteed Lice Solution

It makes the point, and whoevers got lice wants to know more.

    Best,
    Alan

well, see you are on the right track by asking. Problem is that you need to ask your customers, not us! If I was wondering what to call an ebook then I would start by checking keywords - what are people looking for? Then I would do a small adwords campaign and test a couple of headlines. You could send the traffic anywhere, I don't care but for a few dollars you would know what people will click on. That is what really matters. Not what we think.

Unless your solution considers ice or freezing .. I wouldn't use that analogy. Confusing and a tad too cliche-ish. As it is a frustrating and wide-spread problem, giving your product/e-book "childish" titles would probably not result in sales.

      The Lice Ridding Solution
      The No-Lice Solution
      Eradicate the Lice
      Your Lice Solution
      Lice Relief Solution

If your solution is herbal or all-natural ...

      All Natural Lice Relief
      Your All Natural Lice Relief

    How about:

    Lice Out! Goodnight.

Get it? Lights out? That spells LOG - Well, you could use a log to crack a lice's punkin.

Then you could use your light bulb, perhaps a lice hanging onto a dangling pull-chain to turn it off.

    Sylvia

PS: Lice on Ice? I guess it bothers me because a) you aren't using ice to get rid of them, are you? b) if I'm not mistaken, aren't lice kind of like cockroaches that can survive drastic environmental disasters, like ice glaciers? Just a thought.

    On the serious side

You want: Curiosity + Benefit + Excitement + Improvement

The more of those you can pack in to your title the better.

Is it unique? Does it stand out?

Will I, as a customer, remember it if I don't buy it now but my kid gets lice a month later and I need to find it again? Do I feel like it will work from the title?

"Ice the Lice - Painless for You, Big Pain for Lice"

I don't know enough about lice to write a good example but you can use the catch phrase that they will remember and the benefits etc all in one.

    Just a few thoughts.

    Hi Sheila,

or something more obvious such as: All Natural Lice Relief ...etc...
You have two people in your target market in this thread. They both said that the problem your ebook solves is serious and worrisome, and they wanted to find a direct path to a result with few side effects... not a joke.

If your solution is "natural" or "all natural," even better for them because the alternatives are harsh.

    Something along the lines of
    naturally-lice-free.com
    lice-gone-safely.com
    etc.

would probably be seen as a potential Godsend by your target market.

I recommend a domain name with dashes to avoid unintentionally making a funny or bizarre word combination.

From thesaurus.com, some keywords to consider:
for the beneficial nature of your offer - pure plain natural organic
for what happens to the lice - destroy remove erase liquidate extinct abolish

you could also include Now, Fast, Easy, Simple, etc.

    Regards,
    Allen

Sometimes clever is too much. Think "plop plop, fizz, fizz" - won a ton of awards, didn't sell worth crap.

When I saw "Lice on Ice", I also saw "Lice So Nice"...

How about something like How to Get Rid of Lice Without
Scary Prescriptions? If you wanted a clever hook for the sales letter, you could do "Tales from the Lice Squad" with a morgue full of dead lice and a Nit Columbo in a trench coat...

You're trying to solve a serious problem and sell some ebooks, not win advertising or comedy awards...
