What is the Best Affiliate Marketing Training?

Hi there fellow warriors.

First off I want to say that this is my first post here. I have been a long time lurker but for some reason I am feeling the IM itch. I have been involved in forex for years and years and have always dabbled in entrepreneurial type stuff.

Anyway "by accident" I have managed to make a couple of hundred bucks a month by giving honest real money account reviews of forex expert advisors. I think I make a little bit only because my readers know I am sincere. I never tried to sell anything mostly just enjoyed sharing my experiences.

Anyway I digress. I know there is a search function and I also know there has been some threads here or there about which program is the best. Because I am not that familiar with the whole IM scene I cannot talk intelligently about this guru or that mentor. I am familiar with a few of the more "famous names" but other than that I hate to admit it but I am newbie.

So I am torn between a few that I have come up with and I want to be very careful who I follow. I am willing to work I just need good direction and I will do what it takes to shorten the learning curve.

So does anyone have thoughts on who has a good program for affiliate marketing?

I am thinking of going with....

Andrew Hanson Unstoppable Affiliate
Matt Carter im super elite
Bring the Fresh

I know I was thinking of something/someone else too but I can't recall right now.

Anyway I know my style and I would benefit from someone who likes to stay on point and I am interested in learning one method at first (at a time) I don't need to know every single way to make money online but I do need some good credible direction.

Also please feel free with any other newbie advice I am hungry!

Thanks,
John

The best training? Probably the "Search" button. Apparently, not many people know about it, but it's completely free and it literally goes through everything in affiliate marketing - sometimes twice even three times!

yes I am aware of the search button as I posted. I am looking for direction and I want to "cut to the chase" I am not interested in spending months sifting through every single post about affiliate marketing trying to figure out what is good information and what is useless (as I am sure there are tons of useless posts and mis information) not to mention outdated information.

I am however reading and reading and I want to shift into doing and doing but I am looking for the best and quickest approach

Do yourself a favor and don't bother with any 'programs.'

Just imagine an affiliate link in the middle of the page.

One half of the equation is getting people to the link.

The other half of the equation is getting people to click through with the intention of buying.

        Nothing else really matters.

Just go out and find out the best ways to solve both sides of the equation, by taking things you learn and figuring out your own way of doing it.

Buy a program and you're just copying the exact same thing that thousands of other people are having NO success with, and a tiny percentage who are.

        Okay I like that advice

From what I have pieced together so far I need to come up with a website or a blog. I do have a tiny bit of experience with wordpress but still need to learn alot!

Second I think I am deciding on developing a list. I want to be cool with my list like Frank Kern and not always market to them this way I can build trust and loyalty.

Third figure out how to sell to them. I think I am decided on forex for my niche because it is my passion and I have been trading since like 2005 and I am heavily "dialed in" with different developers and innovators and I have a natural desire to help fellow traders out so I also like to be social.

Anyway thank you for the advice I definitely got some creative juices flowing. I think I will have to take notes. I don't know how I ever lived without evernote lol!!!

That's good, but don't let that hunger overwhelm you. Otherwise
you might become addicted to buying reports on internet marketing
without getting anywhere. I see you're already a War Room
member. Take a good look over there, there's plenty of good stuff.
yea I agree with you. My head is already spinning. I am trying to get a focused approach. I do love the war room I am just unsure of who is for real and who is full of crap.

In my experience there are tons of various forum members who fail at what they are doing but yet they act like they are experts. I am not trying to insult anyone just stating my opinion. Anyway I guess if something is genuine and works than I will see it echoed through several posts or in different reports or whatever.

In the end I am sure there are no shortcuts and I will have to decipher for myself who is real and who isn't.

If I could tell someone anything it would be two things:

          1) Go broad with your domain name: you want a domain name that doesn't box you into talking about one specific thing.

          2) Go narrow with content: be as specific as you can about a particular part of your niche so you can build up a following, then in the future you can go broader.

Everything else can basically be altered as you go along.

But learn at least one traffic generation method, how to set up a Wordpress site, how to write engaging content, and how to sell/pre-sell/persuade.

If you are going with Forex I think this should be step #1.

Create some subscriber "bait." You know the market so put together an ebook or video series that not only informs but also demonstrates your knowledge and personal style. "Why should I listen to you?" is what you are trying to establish.

Give your ebook away and build your list. You should have very little trouble monetizing a list of avid followers if you can walk the walk.

Better yet, develop a product that you can recruit your own affiliates to promote for you.

sounds interesting rouge one. To be honest I have been working on my bribe for a while. I titled it fake it till you make it and the gist is how to let forex robots earn you money while you learn to trade. I do have credibility and I think I could develop a following.

Creating a product or better yet coaching does sound like a great longer term goal and one with amazing earning potential I'm sure.

            Two questions.

First what is a good approach to building a list. Should I start a blog and develop readership. God knows I have a lot to say

Second how would I go about getting affiliates to sell my product? and why would they want to. I think of it like forex. Why would I let someone invest/trade my money without some sort of proven track record? Do I need some sort of performance numbers for people to be convinced that my product is worth promoting?

It sounds like you should start a blog. You can also build a list with a very simple setup, without a blog. I suggest setting up a squeeze page and start offering your freebie, while getting your blog populated with enough content to launch.

Post some articles or guest post on blogs in the niche to start driving traffic to your freebie.

It will be best to sell some products yourself so you can test your copy and conversion rates. When you have a tested product you can release it to the market. New products for affiliates to promote are like crack, there is a constant demand for more and better. Forex is a very hungry, desperate market. If your product works and you can convincingly demonstrate that, you should have little problem finding affiliates.

There are some heavy hitters who cross-promote each other and are making a killing. If you get in with them you are assured of success. I will PM you some of their sites if you like.

btw I subscribed to your 7 day crash course list
Thanks. It's meant for newbies but you may find it helpful.

Yes please do pm me. I am in contact with several developers and I am able to get review copies of pretty much anything but I have not really delved into any jv type stuff. Although I don't sell anything yet I do have a lot of productive relationships and I have some other impressive accolades that I really don't want to share publicly.

So really my step one should be to set up a blog. I already own the domain and have had it for over a year! I love the name and to me it's catchy.

This is good I am feeling some direction here now I have to figure out how to get set up. I don't want a crappy blog. If I'm going to do it I have to do it right. I really need to get organized!

So I really need to focus on the "techy" stuff. I know absolutely nothing about plugins and how to use them. I did maange to insert some code for a contact us page on my wife's blog.

Thank you for some really great ideas!

If you need to learn the basics (building wordpress sites, starting a list, etc) the best teacher on the internet is Chris Farrell. Step by step videos that explain everything you need to know. I think you can get a 7 day trial for $4.95. You can learn a LOT in that amount of time~

    Hope this helps,

    you could try all that.

The search button in the warrior forum first.

Then its simple, read, apply, read then apply.

The worst thing is, most people keep reading and reading and never apply.

By the way those affiliate programs/products are good. But There are more than one way to skin a cat. The warrior forum is full of stuff that you will not find anywhere else, but you have to go digging for the real gems.

Johnny, I think your plan to get a mentor/coach has great merit. I am a big advocate of a coach. I think the single biggest advantage is that it encourages great focus, (as well as guidance provided obviously). However, the wealth of free affiliate info on this forum is overwhelming and shouldn't be overlooked.

    Good luck.

Just to expand a few points from this thread:

    - domain name - needs to be brandable nowadays and obviously somewhat relevant

    - Chris Farrel I've heard good things about to get you going

    - Definitely go into forex niche as this is where you have experience which gives you a business advantage compared to all the ones in the niche who don't have actual experience and just picked it based on their "research" or whatever.

    - A training course could be a good idea to target newbies - could be an ebook, video course (or both) or simply a series of emails - this will get them on your list and then in the training course you will have affiliate links to the robots/platforms etc or other products that will make their job of trading easier/make them money easier/faster etc - they are also then on your list for future communication and marketing.

    - A blog goes without saying - just think of your audience - do you want to target newbies, amateurs or pros? Each one of these people will be very different and will want to see different things on the site and a different angle so try just focusing on 1 of these groups rather than trying to cater to them all. I think if you targeted newbies for example you could build a good following because you are an expert compared to them - don't know your experience enough to comment on the other two.

Anyway good luck man and hope this helped!
    Scott

Let me add a comment and an idea about Chris Farrell. His teaching method is very good. He goes one step at a time; his video library is extensive; the fee for his Membership site is well worth it. I have two monitors and it's a snap to watch/listen to his videos on one and follow the instructions on the other. With the stop/go feature on the videos, it makes it real simple for an Idaho Farm Boy.

      pitterz thanks for the advice
You are write these are 3 distinct groups. I think newbies and intermediates could overlap but my primary focus should be on newbies for one specific reason well actually two

reason one I really do love to teach and share my experience and this could work very well with a newbie market. I get the opportunity to teach and they get to learn. It would be very easy for me to be sincere because I am.

reason two as you probably know there is a lot of predatory marketing that goes on in forex and a ton of crap out there. I myself have spent countless amounts of money and in times past have done huge damage to my accounts using junk robots and junk systems. I am self taught in trading but it took far longer than it had to. I would love to be a voice of reason within this market and help people hold onto there money, make wise decisions, and ultimately become apart of that top echelon of successful retail forex traders.

I see some very good clear ideas emerging and boy do I have a lot of work to do!

Well after spending a couple days with Chris Farell's course on affiliate marketing I can say that he is a good teacher

        -however-
He is very basic and I find his teaching style to be a little "slow" I don't mean any disrespect at all. In fact he really is a fantastic teacher and if you are someone who does not know how to copy/paste or set up hosting than his style is for you. I have enjoyed his videos but most likely I will move on.

I will be sure to give a review for whatever program I try.

You may not have given the Chris Farrell membership a fair try. You are right that it does start rather slow. Which is great for absolute newbies. You will find that you can eventually move at your own pace. By the time you complete his "21 days to success" (which you can complete much quicker if you want to) you will have a pretty solid, hands on understanding of Internet Marketing. I tried much more expensive coaching programs before finding Chris Farrell. I can tell you that there is a lot to be said for keeping it sweet and simple. No one does that better than Chris Farrell and his team. BTW... Support from Chris Farrell membership is incredible. If you do any research on him, you will see that he has a huge and happy following and still he makes you feel like you're needs and concerns matter to him, When friends and family ask me who I recommend, I ALWAYS point them to Chris Farrell and no, I am not an affiliate that hopes to gain something from this. I'm just a very happy member.

From my own experience over the years with affiliate programs, there are 2 mentors that I like the most.

One of my mentors has taught me how to create my own work at home directory where I offer 10-15 different offers that will pay me a one time commission every time someone buys.

Although he did help me earn an OK full time income online, it was the wrong way to go because I did work with the wrong programs.

The other guy, Stone Evans, who I also consider a good mentor did one thing for me and that was that I if I want to increase my income online, regular affiliate programs was not the way to go. (My first mentor taught me that).

He told me and others that the best way to do business online is to work with residual type programs like network marketing.

So if I take a look at both of these mentors of mine, I would have to say that they were both right in their own view.

My first mentor taught me how to drive traffic. ( his name is Erich Winnecke and he has a huge heart but no longer has any training going on). I will always admire him for helping me and many others.

Stone on the other hand, was right from day one. He was right when he said that you need to work with residual income programs. He also has a great training going on that talks about residual affiliate programs and has put up a very effective online marketing called "The 30 days to success" guide.

He shows you how to market online. It is very effective and it works.

The thing is most people have the info, and i would say there are multimillion dollars IDEAS in here every day, yet why are there not multimillion dollars being made.

You are not being held accountable, and some of the links are missing.

Taking action is the key to making money, and 99% of people do not take action. That is why they have no problems releasing their best stuff for free. Think about that for a minute.

I set out to start a site and profit, without spending a dime and with minimal effort, considering I've got a normal 9-5 job as well. I chose Weebly because I have limited amounts of web design knowledge and their building is actually quite fun to use. I used a their free .Weebly.com domain and I rely on purely free ways of promotion. The site itself is just a homepage and a few different categories of blogs. Tech, How To's and other stuff. Being my first site, everything I do comes with time and effort but I love it and it's working slightly.

I've worked my way up to between 1,500 and 3,000 avg daily visitors and I'm just a month and a week. So considering that nothing was payed for with anything but time and typing, I'd say I'm on to something.. Actually, the last article I wrote has gotten over 200 facebook likes and 6,000 views in two days. This might not mean much to a lot of you because you actually know what you're doing, but I'm proud. My problem is going to be an obvious one that many have asked, so admins I apologize to you. But for the love of this community, I need your help.

Over the month that my site has been live, I've made $8 with with a combo of Chitika and infolinks.. In two weeks... With 24,000 visitors.. Before I get a ton of comments about why I shouldn't have used Chitika and infolinks, shush. Before those, I made $0 with amazong affiliates and ebay partners and Adsense won't approve because of lack of content. But because my site has actually become something special, I don't want to dishonor my work with crap ads that dont pay. So now i've ditched chitika and infolinks, and signed up with cj, maxbounty, amazon, ebay, shareasale, and a few others I cannot remember because I'm slightly intoxicated at the moment.. Basically, I have options as far as ads. The site is based on making the best of old tech, and the article that is doing really well is on Linux, so I'm currently showing primarily ads for a free tablet through maxbounty. Just started those today though. Also showing a few other affiliate links that I've written about and could incorporate. I take pride in the way my site looks and only add ads when they are appropriate and look good. I tell my readers, very clearly and pleasantly, that ads help to pay for the content that they read and to whitelist my site. If the ads are ugly or irrelevant, they don't pass.i've even payed for a few things that I advertise lol.

So again.. WTF am I doing wrong?!

Now that you know my situation, I need to ask.. Wtf am I doing wrong? I've got the traffic. 85% is from the US my bounce rate has been under 1% for two weeks. I've got social media presence and likes. Very easy to find on google because of my linux post.. I cannot tell you what writing that did for my traffic, but there isn't anymore money coming in. I understand that the popularity of my best post did wonders as far as SEO, but shouldn't that come with at least a littler more money or clicks or anything?? I just don't get it!

Popular article + Lots of visitors + relevant ads in and around article = $8? When I know of worse articles making really, really good money and about the same topic. This is discouraging guys.. but I'm determined to figure out what I did wrong with the success of this article and my site. It's too good to not learn a lesson from it. So come on everyone, What would you do in my situation, and remember, I pay for nothing. The site is free, the traffic is free and the promoting is free. The goal of this site is to generate $50 a day with a weebly domain and nothing paid for. I kinda just need to prove it to myself honestly.

If anyone would like to share any advice, I'm all ears. PM me if you'd like to get a little more in depth.

Thank you all for the passed and future of my hippocampular progress.

      I agree.

So you have a site on a subdomain of a free host, at the moment? You'll want to change that, at some point soon? Partly for the appearance and partly for the security.

That sounds like a lot of traffic, to me, for a five-week-old site.

I don't use Facebook but it sounds pretty good, to me.

Sounds fair enough to me. You type well for someone who's had a few.

Nobody can answer this confidently without seeing (at least) your site.

Well, this is something you're doing wrong, then - the way you're measuring your bounce-rate is wrong. (Maybe you have the Google Analytics code in both the header and the footer of your site? That can give you a bounce-rate figure below 1%). Nobody's bounce-rate is really below 1%.

That's another problem. I'm not suggesting you shouldn't host at Weebly (they're rather a good, and underrated host, in my opinion), but you certainly shouldn't try to make $50 per day without owning your own domain-name. They only cost about $9/$10 per year, you know?

(You might have to use "Weebly Pro", to do that: I can't remember, now.)

I doubt that's a real word, "hippocampular", but I liked it anyway.

I have looked over very many IM courses some are really pricey but if you want to get a lot of info for free before you think about buying something I would try Mark Ling. You can sign up for the free member stuff which gives you access to a ton of videos and written articles that tell you a lot about IM. Once you check out all the free stuff which could take a month there is that much stuff it would give you a better Idea of what type of IM stuff you want to do. There are a lot of ways to make money on line and a lot of people to e-mail marketing but you have to start a list of people who you have gotten to sign up for something you are offering and often that can be a feat in itself.

You should check out Wealthy Affiliate.

The best part is that they have a free option to join which gives you access to some really good training and you get to see what is inside in order to decide if it is for you.

I don't know of many other affiliate training programs that let you try before you buy.

One day I see an Anti Guru Thread and the next I see gratitude for helpful training.

This is why I try never to generalize...generally.

Johnnykanoo, I would recommend Neal Patel, I would also recommed that you try Udemy. You have access to these courses for lifetime, even when new updates are made to the course, or strategies are outdated.

Like anything you have to do your research first, but several of the courese I have brougnt I can honestly say, they hepled me make money.

And best of all I didn't have to buy a $497, or a $997 dollar course from a so called internet expert.

The most I've spent on any course $20 dollars.

    Hope this helps,
