Hey, depending on where you live and what business your in you can work under your own name but creating a business can provide more tax benefits and protections to you. You do need a business if you want someone to write a check with your business name on it or if you want a business checking account.

You want to think of a name that is fluid easily remembered and relates to your targeted audience but you can't use any names for business purposes that are currently trademarked. You should be able to search from your national patent office database. You can search the U.S. trademark office here.
    Trademark Electronic Search System (TESS)

As for the paypal account, once you really start making good money it should become more clear, call them and find out.

You can upgrade to business account anytime you want. However, if you don't have a business and no need to invoice customers, I can't see how it will benefit you.

Depending on your geo location you may receive money through your personal account. Paypal anti-fraud system is rigorous, so I advise you to be as honest as possible while creating an account.

I found Payza to be a more flexible alternative to paypal. Maybe you should take a look...

    Peace

These are questions for PayPal, really, but I think you're going to need at least a bank account in the name of the business, to open a PayPal business account in that name, if you want to collect payments in that name without your own real name being seen by customers.

This was my understanding. It should spell out the terms on their website if you look under setting up a business account. If it's not clear, then I would just give them a call.

I've just upgraded to business and you can do it without having a real business set up, so no real name, no business bank account.

If you are thinking of doing some heavy transactions (many) then it's a very good reason to upgrade to business.

Also, I have a real business but I haven't used any info from that one...

There's not that much difference between a Business account and Premier really. One of the main advantages of the Business account is that you can give other people various levels of access to your Business account. I tried to give my business partner access, but it didn't work!

You can also use your Business name on the account, whereas the Premier is your personal name. If you don't have a business then there's no point changing.

we can easily upgrade the account to business as there will not be a big issue in that, and one of the best benefit is that you can past donate button on your website. and payment receiving option is activated from other client.
