Flippa Resv: Reveal or not reveal?

As you can see from my title, I'm trying to sell a service website on flippa that generates around $1k ish/month..

Anyway, the point was that, a bidder PMed me asking what is the reserved price for my listing.

Should I reveal it to him? should I reveal it publically? or should I not say anything at all?

Thanks in advance.

Ellie, it's against Flippa's rules to reveal the reserve price of an auction. https://flippa.com/rules

Even if it wasn't against their rules it wouldn't benefit you as a seller to reveal the reserve.

It's against there rules but as a Seller it allows an extra Edge to you, I have been selling on flippa for a long time and I usually have to Reveal the Reserve to get more qualified bids.

definitelly do not reveal the reserve price.. by not revealing reserve you are keeping auction hot and attracting more bids.. and also it's against Flippa TOS

    best of luck

I would have to agree with not revealing it. The issue is most buyers (especially newbies) may think because you set a low reserve price than (just an example) possibly the 'Buy Now' price, that is all the site is worth. (Reserve)

The Buy Now price, being typically much higher may be hurt by revealing this. By more experienced buyers, not just on Flippa (me being one) I may ask if the 'reserve price' has anything to do with an 'upcoming' problem with the site. (Such as ban, expiring hosting, client contract expiring etc.)

This may cause you to reveal things which don't necessarily hurt the site sale but may open a discussion which scare-off more serious investors. Just my 'two-cents'.

You also want to get a lot of bids if possible on the auction, which pushes it up the list of most active. So if you can get a bidder to place multiple bids trying to reach the reserve, it only helps you. So don't reveal, just ask them to place any bid they want and increase the bid by $10/$20 or $100 increments.
