Does adsense helps to make a blog popular? It can make a blog profitable but I am not sure about making popular. Can anyone clarify?

I would like to have a theme thats has minimalistic look with attention to functionality. Apple's website is a great example of that. So, let me know if you have something on those lines.

Being a responsive offering is very, very important now more than ever. That means, it should respond to changes in display resolution on the fly, and be ready for other devices (like mobile phones) out-of-the-box, changing its appearance to be best surfed on any given device.

Take a look at Montezuma or other themes on WordPress.org tagged with "responsive". Check out some demos and see what it's all about - open the preview link in a new window so it isn't lightboxed, and then change around the size of your browser - this is a big deal already, and will only continue to become more and more important!

Do I make
Niche related themes?
Affiliate Themes?
eCommerce Themes?

I really can't resist saying "do them all"!

Seriously. Reach all three of your listed theme types, and do more that aren't listed. Reach all audiences, instead of just one.

Amazon themes sell really well when you bundle them with functionality that makes it easy to import products. You can charge high-premiums for those that deal in pulling in the product, but still expect us to write our own reviews. You get good clients that way.

Offer yourself for support as well. You will miss out on a lot of money if you leave people who buy your themes to go hire someone else to tweak them - remember, you are making a theme for sale, the buyer probably has limited knowledge of coding one themselves, which makes their ability to tweak or personalize it very limited as well.

You are right. All three are well needed and can be catered for but one time at a go. At-least at this time of starting. Depending on the response, we can now manage to make another and another...

Support is always going to be there, no matter what theme we release. By support we can be able to make a community of seekers. This way we can build up.

But I was looking for which one exactly to go for initially? Let me say it this way... what should I prioritize with?

Make both Niche related themes and Affiliate Themes. As well as make the theme compatible with any device like Mobile, Computer, Tab...

The adsense component in the Wordpress blog will make it popular when the creator is selling it. If you can sell a template that offers the ability to make money as well as presenting your content, the value of the template increases.

Keyuria - Whenever you get your theme made (or if you have other themes) and an affiliate program, please let me know. I'd love to promote them.

As to your question though... You'd probably do well to have a niche site that comes with QUALITY graphics that can be easily changed in and out based on the niche. There are several themes out there that have multiple styles for a plethora of niches - I've seen few that I would actually use because their graphics look so spammy.

Thank you all for your comments. I have decided and in a weeks time I will be through with one of them. I am currently making a theme for affiliates.

So it is decided and the work is ON. I will let all of you know when my theme is ready for distribution.

I'll have a stab for you,

Full width, adjustable width header with a variable page width up to say 1800px with and without multiple adjustable width sidebars

One that looks like a British newspaper, tabloid and broadsheet.

A full width business theme that has razor-sharp graphics and text that will load in 1.3 seconds.

A 5 x 300 pixel column magazine theme with adjustable header width header width.

All the above without tons of superfluous adjustments in the admin panel, the ability for featured adjustable images, regular updates to stay inline with those of WP.

Possible? No idea, I'm not a coder.
