Poke Holes in My Marketing Strategy
So i have been researching heavily here the last 5 days. First off i must say im a business owner not an affiliate marketer. I have to deal with employees and providing services, refining products etc... so my tasks throughout the day are not just DRIVE TRAFFIC AND PROFIT, i have to deal with various tasks so this makes it difficult for someone in my position. I need traffic but must run a business which obviously we all do. This means i need to act fast and just do not have the time to research all day, trial/error. Considering i would label myself as a middle man all the way through i need to define my tasks, learn enough about them, then hire the best to HELP me throughout.
I think i have pretty much summarized internet marketing. Most people fail because they do not invest capital due to being broke and think their labor can make success yet do not know what to do? Most never even learn what to do even though they try for months.
FAILURE.
There are two types of people.
1) People that are too cheap to pay and are always looking for free resources until
they dont work anymore, they lose their shirt from it and have to stop or stress fully scour new free resources. They may invest $100 or $1000 in paid traffic then give up. Ex: the craigslist guys.
FAILURE.
2) People that pay for traffic and convert on their sales while always looking for cheaper resources but still stick with paid sources.
SUCCESS
SEO is great but i think i see the most important initial and long lasting methods are:
-Pay Per Click (try multiple networks not just G.... google, --MSN/bing/yahoo--especially now)
-Adsense
-Media Buying (test this with Adsense, then go directly to sites and buy banners direct for which ever sites performed best)
-PRESS RELEASES- they cost money but it is essential.
(always put out press releases, if 1 out of 10 gets picked up due to you being
creative, it literally can put your business in a different atmosphere, reputation wise, instant traffic wise, SEO wise, and Page rank wise (even if Pagerank doesent matter that much).
-Affiliates (pay per lead basis or commission based)
As i sit here and think should i be putting an "articles section" on my site and put 1000 articles targeting my very low searched, very low competition keywords and putting a "dictionary section" on my site to drive traffic i realize i am wasting my time and its not a first step strategy, its something you do along the way yet most people do this first. That traffic takes time, many times does not result in sales because people are not in buying mode anyway.
I would love to hear any responses to my assessment.
