How to protect pages on a WordPress site from being copied?

I want to protect pages on a WordPress site from being copied.

Is there a way to make it so that text on WordPress pages is not copy-pastable?

I guess I could use a pdf or a jpeg - an image - of the text, but the pages are to be quite long, so this might make the pages slow to download.

Or another way to protect pages / text on pages from being copied?

(in addition to a login - i already have a login for the pages)

If the text is in an image form.

But that kinda defeats the whole SEO thing.

Are these for a private members area or pages you are displaying on the web?

    What is your concern?

I'll be honest and tell you - stuff gets copied on occasion.

You can send a DMCA notice if you find your stuff getting stolen.

        two more questions:

        1. is there any plugin that also protects source code from being copied? - because users can go to that to get copy-protected content

        2. once a plugin like that is activated, what other ways are there people can steal the content?

The only sure way is to delete them.

Seriously though, there is no way to prevent copying. You can reduce the chances, but you'll never eliminate it. If content is viewable, it is copyable.

Your best course of action is to have appropriate copyright notices in place.

Even if your content cannot be copied directly from the site by highlighting and clicking on copy function, it can always be copied manually. Once you publish something online, expect that some of it will be copied. But if you think your whole content has been pirated, send them a DCMA notice.

Like others have said if it's viewable it's copyable.

Somebody with a little PHP knowledge could quite easily write a scraper
to scrape the entire contents of your site in a matter of minutes.
