Finding people with a health list?

I have an idea that I'm excited about.

A) I would write really good Ebooks on health related subjects that acually really help people.

B) Make an awesome sales page with killer copy

C) Get people with health lists topromote it for a commission

If done properly, would it work?

PLAN B:

One more idea.

Create a awesome Ebook with sales page etc.

Then go to a freelance site and get people to promote if for a commission..

Could work right?

People do exactly what you're describing all the time. So yes, it can be done and IS being done successfully all the time.

Whether it will work for you is entirely dependent on YOU.

  • 1. There are no guarantees with IM.
    2. Although your idea sounds good, no one can tell you if a sound plan on paper will actually work in real life.
    3. You will learn more from your own personal trial and error than you will from hundreds of comments from people giving you their spin on "how to do it"

    ....just my 2 cents....

Yes, it will work if done properly. You're talking about a JV.

There are variations you can and should do such as giving the list owner the lion's share of the profits in exchange for you building a list from his subscribers. Then you can start email marketing to them. That will work well if you do it properly.

Could, but there's more to be concerned about with this. You have to recruit people who know how to market well and do other things well. It may be hard to verify the person's background and proof of marketing expertise, knowledge, and ability.

I think there are easier ways to promote your ebook(s) without going through essentially the hiring process x # of potential marketing freelancers. Could (will) be a major hassle, and after all that there are no guarantees they'll perform well.

One thing, here. Any person with a list will want to know how well your sales copy converts. If they're smart or have any kind of clue, they'll ask that question. And that may prove to be a speed bump.

You ideally need to get some idea of how well your copy converts.

If you know how to do PPC, then perhaps going to MS Adcenter (Bing) or maybe AdBrite and running a few quick campaigns for a week is recommended. You don't have to spend much money to do this.

And if you do that, then use their split test function and optimize your ads. Use lots of good negative keywords to lower CPCs, too.

    Hey Livelifelove,

Have you done your market research?

This is how I and the people I teach do things:

    1. Market Research to ensure there is a market. We don't go for markets that don't currently exist. We want to make cash and don't want to be the pioneers of a new market.

    2. Sales copy based on market research findings.

    3. Write the ebook or more often, get it outsourced based on our research.

    4. Market the ebook via different channels.

The two things I'd focus most of my time on is the market research and the sales copy. The sales copy sells the ebook - not the ebook title or the contents or the graphics.

Having said that I'd still ensure the product was of high quality.

There was a survey done in the UK a few years ago by a company that sells language courses through the mail, here's their findings:

    - 25% didn't go beyond opening the wrapper and looking at the package contents.
    - 60% only browsed through the contents briefly, maybe listening to the first CD.
    - 13% went through all of the package
    - 2% went on to learn a language fluently

The point I'm trying to make is, a large number of your ebook buyers will not read it cover to cover.

Therefore, as a wise Internet Marketer, you'd spend the majority of your time on creating your marketing mix, than the actual product.
