Videos, Audio or PDF? Which do you prefer for products?

I go with videos almost always just because of how in depth people can get with it but audio is great for the car...

Favorites? Is there a product you won't buy because of the format?

Depends on the topic and the situation. Some things I prefer to read, like blog posts, reports, etc. If I want to consume something "on the run" audio is best as I can just listen to it on my smartphone.

Video I prefer all in all, though, but I would have time to sit down with my computer and watch it. On the smartphone I tend to not watch too long videos.

Video is good but I personally learn best with just Audio. I love interview products too.

The best products combine all 3. In my opinion, if you're going to do audio, you may as well just do video. If someone wants just the audio they can listen to it without watching the video.

I think inclusion of all three, we all learn in different ways and how we consume a product depends on what we are doing and our mood. Mind maps included as part of a product can also help give a bigger picture of the product outcome.

I think it depends on the product. If there are more technical details involved, it is always nice to watch a video but also have a PDF available. I believe one can be a good backup source for the other as there have been a couple products I have purchased that there has been a small step that was skipped in the video, or wasn't explained very well, but was more complete in the PDF. And of course visa versa.

I think I answered something like this a few days ago on another thread.

Anyway, here's my take on it.

I believe giving your clients choices is never a bad thing.

That being said, I will always love the printed word as I can go back and re-read whatever wasn't clear to me or re-read it to ingrain it in my memory.

As far as videos go, I absolutely love the animated ones as they help me at times to be able to remember the content by visualizing the picture/animation and bring back the ideas associated with it.

I also like videos in addition to the written content if the content is on learning something technical as I'm rather handicapped in that area. It's just not my forte. Teach me the method/s with your written instructions and also talk me through it and walk me through it with the audio and visuals in a how to video and I'll admire you forever. lol!

That brings up another format I love and that is an audio version to an e-book, pdf report, etc. I love listening when I'm on the road or just tired of being at the computer, like when I'm taking a break from my online endeavors. There's nothing like just kicking back on the comfy couch, closing your screen tired eyes, and listening away.

Options are wonderful and I believe add more value to your product.
