Some Quick Fixes to Improve Your Sales

Hey Warriors

I wanted to jump on here and share a common mistake I regularly come across as I read sales material, and how to correct it with just a snap of your fingers.

Think about it like this…

What’s obvious to you is not always so obvious to your potential customers. So with that in mind, here are a few things that I do for my clients, and that you can start doing yourself to boost your bottom line.

First, be explicit when describing your product to customers. If they don’t understand exactly what your product does, then they’re probably not going to understand why it’s important to them.

Second, turn the features of your product into benefits. The whole time someone is reading your sales letter/pitch, they’re thinking: “how does this help me?” Your goal should be to make the answer to that question obvious.

Third, focus on the customer 80% of the time, discussing how your product meets their needs, and tell your personal story for only 20% of the time.

Fourth, frame your sale as an investment. Rather than saying “buy now,” say “invest now.” That way, your potential customers think of your product as something that brings long-term benefits, rather than something that will sit around collecting dust after they buy it.

Try these out for yourself and you might just be amazed with the results. Hope this helps and have a great Sunday.

Thanks Pete - You're right that a lot of the more seasoned vets know this stuff, but sometimes I see them forgetting when they get too confident/over excited about their products!

Ellie - You're welcome, I'm glad you found this helpful and if you ever need any advice, feel free to reach out : )

Great tips, though it's good to remember that a little ambiguity could arouse a great deal of interest, making the potential buyer/client wonder and say "Hmm.." is a sales tactic in and of itself! I've seen some savvy warriors deconstruct entire sales letters and figure out the product/what was being sold!

All in all great advice Stefan.

Great point Gaby, going about it with a little mystery can definitely work. I think this is especially effective with experienced marketers however, because you don't want to run the risk of being so vague, people lose interest or confused.

what I have not seen in here is to try these three things.

    1) test

    2) Test some more

    3) Get winning campaigns and try to test and get even better results.3

I think we are not all marketers, we are testers of tactics. Some will work and others will not. Simple as that.

Personally, I've been exposed too much with the word "invest" makes me wonder what could happen after I "invested" my money in that particular product.

I'd appreciate the word "buy now" more cause it sounds more honest, at least for me. Do you think this is common?

That's a really interesting point and not one I've heard many people say. One strategy to use would be to say something along the lines of "invest in yourself." That way, you're taking the focus off the product, and putting it back on the consumer...
