Article Directories, Have I Been Doing This Wrong?

Am I supposed to be writing one article and submitting that to a major directory like eZine and then after it's approved sending it out to another 5-10 as the same copy? That way I build backlinks and also hopefully traffic?

I thought it was one article one directory....

Then follow up lol, what type of article marketing should I be doing, or can you point me to a thread with that info? (Just as a side note, thanks for coming back and answering my questions, I appreciate an experienced warrior helping me with what seems very basic )

            No; that would be futile.

I'd never give any article directory the initial inexation-rights to any content I hadn't already published and indexed on my own site. And I advise you not to, either.

No, this is all completely wrong. Article directory backlinks are worthless, and no article marketer would want potential customers ever finding those copies at all. That isn't who they're there for. And there's no point in submitting to 5 - 10 article directories anyway.

All of these questions are answered in this thread from earlier today: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post7288013

Huge mistake. Sorry! Explained at length in this thread: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...marketing.html

No; it's absolutely booming. But what you're asking about isn't really article marketing.

(It's "article directory marketing". That's been pretty much dead for years).

            Yes ... no problem there.

Start with this thread, and follow the links in it - doing so will tell you what you need to know about article marketing (but pay great heed to Joseph's perceptive and apposite comments above, too!): http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post5068872

Yes. (As long as they comply with EZA's guidelines, of course).

Every article I've ever had published in Ezine Articles (and/or anywhere else) has first been published and indexed on my own site.

That's not to say that you could/should do that with any of the information/articles you have on your site now, of course: nobody is going to syndicate articles "reviewing products". They'll first need to be written for syndication.

But I strongly suggest that you start here.

You can take something original by you that you have on your blog and submit it to ezine. The problem is that if someone steals your blog material and publishes as their own, ezine will not publish yours. They want to be sure the article wasn't plagiarized. There have been discussions about this on the ezinearticles forum.

I use article, not for backlinks as you were talking about, but to establish myself as an expert. I also want my articles picked up by various directories as well as people finding the article when searching for the keywords I use.

I will submit the article to ezinearticles and, as soon as approved, publish the tweaked article on my blog. Different people have different ways and reasons of following their process.

      Best of luck to you!
