what have been your biggest failings?

And what have you learned from them? And does it seems to get easier over time to create new businesses, or is it the same as when you started?

I know for me, personally, it has been spreading myself too thin and not doing things that I loved and had a passion for. When I started out, I bought a bunch of domain names, threw adsense on them and was writing for a bunch of content mills on the side. I felt so unfulfilled and knew that this was not what I had planned when I envisioned what my life would be like working from home.

Once I finally realized how unhappy I was (after 3 years of scattered efforts all over the internet), it dawned on me that all I have ever loved and wanted to do was write! And by this, it meant to write for myself and for personal clients where I was able to set the rates for what I was worth and not have to write something that I wasn't comfortable with and receiving pennies for it.

It was at this point that I created a business around my name and focused solely on branding myself.

I hope that this helped a little

Taking it to easy and expecting the money to magically appear. Also getting too into the IM side of things and gradually forgetting about the things I love.

Same here. I got too cocky earning my first dollar online and took it too easy thinking money will just continue coming in. Another failure was spreading myself too thin. Doing too many things at once and jump from one strategy to another in a span of a couple of weeks. Now I just stick to one and make it work

It's easy to fail repeatedly online - even with a barrage of different income models. But nothing is more important than a strong marketing plan. Doesn't matter what you sell... you're really in the "marketing" business. I keep that in mind everyday as i market my site.

Devotion and passion -- that is what I have failed in once or twice.

I've learned that when you're part of a business, a working company, you really have to devote your time.

You also need to be passionate about what you do, or else everyday in the daily grind will just feel like it sounds... a grind!

Not doing enough initial research. Kills you every time!

Research well and stick to your plan and see it through.

My biggest mistake was getting rip off by Anastasia date.

What I have learn is a little like every one else. study your market, build up a strong strategy plan, stick on it and research about who you're working with.

That's probably the basement of any business, whether online or Offline.

my biggest mistake is when I hired a not-so-efficient VA... I asked the guy to manage my mailing lists and respond to emails, post my articles, reply to comments, and all that stuff... I mean, there's nothing wrong with getting help from a VA... but never make them do all the IM task alone... I was too busy managing my other sites when I noticed that I'm also losing some.....

    Very Nice Question,

I have faced loads of failure/feedback in life until i have learned about this presupposition that they teach in NLP and the Power of Reframing has truly changed my life around.
    "There's No Failure Only Feedback"

If you extract valuable lessons out of the experience that you have gone through that you termed as a failure than there's awesome lesson to be learned.

Again, I have learned those lessons but still i was repeating the same mistakes over and over again which led me to einstein quotes of "INSANITY" Doing the Same thing again and again and expecting different results.

I had to pause for a minute cause when you are in the process you just go with the flow and don't think about it. You just keep on doing it. What you gotta do is You need to stop for a minute and picture yourself as a third person and see yourself from your eye and start doing the thing which you were supposed to do.

The exercise takes time but its really awesome..

The lesson I have learned from my experience which i have turned it into affirmations for my business.

1-I feel enthusiastic and powerful coz my commitment are strong to the project i'm focusing on.
2- I can delegate some work by creating a system and make other person accountable for it - I'm an entrepreneur not a project manager. My vision is big and bright i need to keep my eye on it.
3- I m a strategic entrepreneur.. (Need to stick with different marketing strategies.)
4- I keep the momentum going that would led the spirit up.
5- I anchor myself when i'm in the zone.
    6- I m exceptional and have a discipline mind.
7- I tame my monkey brain and I practise what i preach.
8- I take action and adapt
9- I am abundant and things are coming to me.
10-I love freedom and experience joy everytime.

Also, i have recorded those affirmations by myself which i keep on repeating in the background.

I hope these affirmations would be helpful to some people

    To your Success,

My biggest regret was not spending more time learning to manage ME much earlier in my career.

Like many others it always seemed like i was missing information or some secret. But the truth is I just didn't know how to manage me effectively.

Since I was my only employee, that led to a lot of early disappointments.

    Lack of focus and persistence.
I have come to realize I need to stick to one path I'm passionate about and follow it through.

To me failing is the equivalent of when someone quits. Though I know what you're trying to get to. I made a ton of mistakes, some of the bigger ones were:
    • Not building a list for monetizing models that could utilize it.
    • Jumping from one thing to the next without ever really completing the first project or giving it enough time to build any kind of momentum.
    • Not learning basic project management.
    • Taking too long to outsource mundane and/or repetitive tasks or things that COULD be outsourced (such as content creation, product creation, tax planning, etc.)
    • Not creating a business continuity plan in case of my death or natural disaster or if I became incapacitated (my customers deserve that much at the very least).
    • Shying away from paid advertising.
    • Not tracking all my campaigns (SEO or paid advertising)
    • Not taking personal development seriously. I started in this game back in the late 1990s and back then I was not ready to make money online. It wasn't until I matured as a person and really knew what I wanted is when the money started coming in.
    • I should have cancelled my dish subscription and put away the TV sooner. Once I did that it was almost like magic whereby I was able to focus on my business a whole lot better.
    • I should have spent less time with people who did not support me and mastermind with like-minded and action-minded people.

3 years ago I made a big mistake in my offline business, except I caught it in time.

I had a thousand sales letters done up. Printed, stuffed and postage put on.

I checked it one last time before mailing and noticed I had the wrong phone number for customers to order on the letter.

I learned from that and have never done it again. So far

I used to think that if I market a product, I should get a few sales the same day. I was wrong about that.

It is so important to keep advertising and stay consistent because there are a lot of people who tend to study a product from different angles and this takes them a while. A lot of people just bookmark your product for later consideration and knowing that, sales can come in even days after you started to promote something.

As long as you persist, people will buy.

my biggest mistake was having 'shiny object syndrome' and feeling like I was missing out if I didn't have the new latest product but the fact of the matter is if you are and intermediate or above you probably have all the knowledge you need to be a success in your brain already its just having the right plan, which is what I realised

I'm pretty new to actually doing something with Internet marketing(I've known about the job for a long time but never did anything), so I haven't had a whole lot of failings.

Although, I think I just stated one without realizing it.

*One of my biggest failings was waiting to get down and do the work. No matter what you plan on doing, it is always best to start working with it immediately, so you can get results. Also, don't jump from one thing to the next. Focus on one thing and take it to completion.

I'm coming up on my first finished eBook, so we'll see what I learn. I sort of get the feeling that it is going to flop, and I'm ready to learn from it and figure out why it flopped.

Nothing else, I can add it into a set of new PLR products. I did learn quite a bit from writing the eBook.

Mines was looking for the quick satisfaction of getting results so I would purchase things based off of easy way out. And, the truth is that you get what you pay for, I've spent 1,000's just like the next man on things that didn't work. Once I started investing in me, my business and buying traffic, everything else started falling into place.

biggest things have been, not building a list faster.

ONce you work out just how good email marketing really is, then the sun starts shining brightly and you have one of those AH HUH moments.

Some work it out quicker than others. I was forest gump slow on this one. LOL
