Product Creation is Easy...Finding Affiliates...Not So Much!

by Dexx

Anyone else seem to be a in a similar boat?

Everyone always talks about the money is in creating products, and I have no problem being able to do that!

But I just can't seem to attract affiliates for new products that get created...

I post in the JV forum here, and on the ClickBank forum on DP...

What are some other good methods to attract or get the attention of affiliates to brand new products?

"Killer" sales copy - many affiliates are discriminating.

Promise value to make affiliate-promotion easy - a
pre-written email series they can mail their lists,
hot banners, keyword lists, viral videos they can
use and upload to video-sharing sites, etc.

Affiliates are generally lazy, so I hear, so you really need to provide them with a program that is already converting to get them to jump on board. Having all the supporting artwork and sales text is most helpful too.

In other words, you need to give affiliates a real reason to join your program. If they can sense that you are reputable and have invested good time into a quality product, they are more likely to join your program.

What have you done thus far?
    What are you conversion rates?
Have you done testing/split testing on ads?

    I hope this helps.

Ah okay I understand what you are both talking about, though I guess to expand on my original question...

Once all of this material is created for them...

How do I find / get the word out to affiliates in the best way?

The secret is to create a uniquely desirable product, compelling offer, with copy that converts.

In other words... don't be a "me too."

Stand out because of the quality and unique approach.

Also make sure you are in a high demand market where there is competition and plenty of people dissatisfied with the current options on the market and looking for better alternatives.

If you have that affiliates will knock on your door.

And you must offer some decent amount at least $20+ for the affiliates. Its the main thing that affiliates looking for promoting a product.

      I agree with Ben.

Offer them more than 50% - maybe even 75%
so they feel they are getting a good chunk of the pie
and not just working to make money for you.

Your payout has to be substantial. I'm selling a
product that pays a measly $8.95. His price is
priced way too low, so even 50% is crappy. I don't promote
      it.

He does the promotion and my hidden page manages
to get picked up when people search for his product name.
In that sense, it's good because I'm doing absolutely
nothing to make that money. It's really not worth it though
      at 5 sales a month = $45. Instead, I could be selling
one of the related products on my site that pays $34 each.

      How to get affiliates?

I just launched my own product, listed it on CB and posted
it on a few other affiliate networks. But somehow it got
picked up by other sites that are listing it as an affiliate
product. I've no idea how that happened.

So I would recommend running a search for 'affiliate networks'
and any sites where you can list your product. Send the link
to your affiliate page rather than your sales page if you don't
have an affiliate link on your sales page.

Don't make the mistake I did... and forget to put your sales
page link on your affiliate page.

          You're welcome, Dexx

Another thing you can do is to submit some press releases
          about your new product launch.

Put notices on any and all marketing and affiliate forums
that allow it, ie: in sig files and if they have special sections
on affiliates/jvs. Go beyond WF. There are tons.

Also... don't overlook targeting sites that cater to your niche.
ie: Forums and chat boards where people talk about your
niche. You just might find someone who'd love to make a few
          bucks as an affiliate.

          That should help.

Find a good JV Broker.....that is the best way!

There are a few of us around

This goes beyond affiliate networks because a lot of them
will produce the same results as the JV Forum here.

Also, go to the JV Network sites...which are few...and
    get your product listed there.

And as mentioned above...you definitely want to have some
proven conversion, a nice affiliate suite of tools as well as
    other marketing assets.

Don't under estimate the necessity of a good JV Invite page which
has specific info about what is in it for the JV Partner / Affiliate.

    Hope this helps

That sounds like it could be pretty expensive (vs posting for free in the different affiliate forums such as was suggested)

Is there much information (as far as increased results over the previous suggestion) to learn more about this as a strategy?

        Hey Dex,

Well it depends on your perspective and the arrangement. Depending on what exactly the arrangement is ....you may be out an additional percentage but your results usually are far better (provided you have good copy)

Brokers tend to be connected with several marketers from small list owners to large ones. And the relationship base is strong and the affiliates tend to produce more results.

I have seen product creators bring on hundreds of affiliates who produce nothing. Could it be the sales copy? Maybe....but it could also be the affiliate that is bouncing from program to program and not putting forth the proper effort to adequately promote.

Furthermore, a broker or JV Manger tends to produce more favorable results based on affiliate motivating, effective communication and such.
I would rather spend an additional 10-20% for results vs nothing.

Of course, Brokers are selective with the programs they promote and there are certain things that are required but at the end of the day....you have the possibility to gaining access to some people who have very large lists....more importantly....produce results.

        Highest Regards,

        Sean

You can also include a video in your sales letter. sometimes a simple thing like that helps. pictures of people giving testimonials is another thing. Make it real and long. Tell the story - if you convince people to use the software, they will tell others. automatic aff signup. lots of little thing add up. Find forums with 'users' - they usually know others. Try making it viral - catchy videos work really well lately.
Getting affiliate is no different than getting client - but convince them they are going to look like gurus AND make money of this deal.

Well I create windows software applications, so the product I'm currently promoting is the File Management Software in my signature link (it's my first attempt to sell software on ClickBank)

Still in the process of creating the affiliate material such as autoresponder messages and articles for submission.

But it has such flexibility for use that the software itself could be used for almost any niche that an affiliate is in, I just need to get that message to them! heh

I agree with the fellow who talked about high commission.

If it is a digital product, like I believe it is, you can offer as much as 75% as has been suggested and still make a huge amount of money. Afterall, you don't spend money on any inventory.

When affiliates see this and the product is good judging from the sales letter, which of course should contain what to expect from purchase of the product, they are likely to join your program and promote your product.

However, make sure you offer incentives like excellent support, marketing materials and so on. This can also make them to refer other people into the program.

If i want to attract a particulr JV partner the first thing i do is go out and promte his/her product make them a whole lot of sales get in their top ten promoters list and wait for him/her to conatc me and they will...

that way I have the leverage... as opposed to me just asking them, then they have all the chips

I didn't do it myself yet because I didn't have enough time for that, but I learned from an expert that if you want to have affiliates really working to sell your products, you have to make things very easy for them, teaching them everything, step by step, and sending them many messages with more tips, encouraging them, giving prizes, etc.

They key is to make everything simple, showing them exactly how to promote your products, besides giving them all the necessary tools. Something like: do-this, now-do-that...

    Hi Dexx,

One option is to find an affiliate in your niche doing their own launch. You can then ask if they'd be willing to put your product as a one time offer - OTO. I'd offer a min. of 75% commission or even possibly a full 100%!

See, you'd be building your own list of BUYERS! Buyers are GOLD! You'd then be well prepared for your next launch with buyers list!

This plan works wonders in other niches because some have NEVER heard of an OTO. Heck, depending on the size of the list the JV has I'd even provide the OTO script.

Check out this posting right here on the WF....

Scroll down to post #41. I mentioned in detail a couple of ways to find JV's

I got a question on this. I recently launched an ebook product and got it on Clickbank. Yesterday I received out of the blue, from someone I don't know from squat, an email

    Here it is:

Greetings from your new clickbank affiliate from Singapore.)

Your unique "Niche Demon" moneymaking system sure sounds too
irresistible to ignore. I would love to put forward my joint venture
proposal for promoting to my own optin list of about 1400 members,
comprised mostly of newbies & money-making opportunity seekers who
would I feel be excellent targeted prospects for this deal If
my offer is acceptable to you, please forward a review copy of your
    e-book for my
personal evaluation first, so that I can proceed to write an unbiased
recommendation before starting to organize my campaigns. Lately I
have had the opportunity to review a couple of other similar killer
marketing systems, including Liz Tomey's "5 Day Cash
Machine" & one newly-launched "MiniSite Formula" & I would be raving
to add yours to my marketing arsenal too.

Looking forward to your positive response & to initiating a lasting
& mutually beneficial biz relationship with you very soon,

So ... anyone here launch a product and get emails like this? I don't know how to respond. I don't really want to give away review copies to total strangers.
