Amazon Affiliate Tips & Tricks

I have a wordpress amazon affiliate site. It's my first IM venture..right now I just use extendazon and an affiliate review theme. I am writing one 400-500 word product review for each post, and its starting to feel a little cumbersome (but I obviously don't think it's a good idea to use one of those plugins that just takes the amazon product info & puts it on my site, as the content should be original right?)

What are some "must have" plugins , or just general tips to help making the process of building an amazon review site easier?

I have my little expensive strategy: dual screens

One screen with the product / Amazon site; the other with the review I'm writing. Makes it that much easier. Not a plugin, though.

You can try WP Zon Builder though you need to add content so as to make your reviews unique. Using WP Zon does make things easier since you have to do less manual work.

As a first venture in IM I would say it's a good way to go. There is however no way around producing readable reviews if you want to rank for any length of time.

For plugins I would put in another vote for all-in-one-seo or wordpress-seo if your theme doesn't support seo stuff. A good backup plugin is also essential, I use backupbuddy which isn't free, but I'm sure there are free alternatives around.

If you find it cumbersome you should outsource if you can afford it. I saw a WSO recently called Azon Hitman which uses curated content from places such as Ezine. Im not sure how well those type of sites rank though.

Does that plugin bookmark your posts automatically or is it to allow visitors to post to social media sites?

As far I know, this plugin allows visitors to like a post and the post link will appear at the visitor FB profile.

And Twitter -> each post link will be appear in a tweet in the visitor account.

So this can increase traffic from social media sites.

Or just another thought. If you don't like doing it. Don't do it. Perdue another IM path.

I started with Amazon review sites. Like you...I found it a drag and dreaded it. I now participate in product development and a few other ventures. A lot more interesting. Fun. And control.

    Just an option...

He beat me to it ^

Build a amazon site on a topic you're really interested in already, this should make it easier. You may already own something in that niche, if you do then review that. You'll be able to review it in much more detail.

For example, hobby = Guitars, own a Fender Stratocaster, review it in detail, base your amazon review site around guitars.

Make ONE review of 1000 words or more if possible and then outsource small articles in the same niche to generate traffic to your 1000 word fender stratocaster, review article, on your site.

Do a video review too of the item if you already own it. For the guitar example you could review the guitar, thats 1 vid, you could then play the guitar, that's another vid, you could then do cover vids which are endless, all linking back to your site.

You're 1000 word article should then help convert the reader in to a buyer.

Once you start earning, buy all different products in different niches and review them in detail, photograph them, video them etc. Then sell the item on eBay to get some money back. Your reviews will be better and easier to do. Over time they should start earning money and it will cost you next to nothing to do as you're re investng what you earned.

Make your reviews not just informative, but entertaining to read. Include humor and personal anecdotes if possible. A review with a story behind it is usually more fun for both the reader and the author.

One major tip that everyone ignores:

Stick with topics/products that interest you and that you are knowledgeable in. It becomes much less work and far more enjoyable. It's what I do and IT WORKS.

    2 simple tips:
    1. Don't write 4-500 words product reviews. Write 2-3 shorter, 150-200 words reviews instead.
    2. Use BIG pictures of the product. The bigger the picture, the more clicks you get!

Use Video Review Master (I am not affiliate). This is a great tool to make your review.

Have you had success yourself with that tool?

How does the tool work? I read that you choose any sharable youtube video and its converts it into an instant mini income stream. In what way does it do this?
