What Do You Think About Selling PLR Articles?

Hello.

I would like to hear your opinion on selling or using PLR articles.

I'm thinking about setting up a website to sell PLR products and I figured I would make a section for PLR articles. Of course, I want to know if that would be a good idea or not.

Does anyone here sell PLR articles? Is it profitable?

And...

What do you think about using PLR articles on your website? Would you use them or nah?

If I do start selling PLR articles I will write them myself.

Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Looks like nobody has an answer for you so here's my $0.02.
I would guess PLR is not as profitable as it once was because there is less of a market for it now it is pointless to chuck on your website, but it still has its uses for freebies, sites for sale, etc.

Haven't felt the urge to do it myself but I would also guess you need tens of thousands of articles in every niche imaginable to make any decent money from it.

As for writing the PLR yourself, well unless your are planning on living 250 years I think you're on a loser, but far be it from me to burst you bubble. If you are a reasonable writer you might better selling exclusive article packs, either on here or elsewhere and/or offering a content writing service if you think you can do it everyday of the week.

Not true. I buy PLR regularly and I'm certainly not the only one. It has to be high quality. There will always be a demand for high quality PLR.

it is pointless to chuck on your website,
Unless your website is not Google dependant. I have entire sites built with "out of the box" PLR. Visitors really don't seem to mind.

      Not if it's high quality.

You might also want to research article syndication as a possible income from your writing.

Opinion not fact Brent, which is what the OP asked for, I'm not disputing the fact there isn't a demand for PLR. You buy PLR yourself, but do you make a full-time income selling it?

"Unless your website is not Google dependant. I have entire sites built with "out of the box" PLR. Visitors really don't seem to mind."

Agreed, Once again I'm not saying PLR doesn't have its uses as per my examples, my point was if it is no use "as is" on a website that does depend somewhat on search engines for traffic, then logic would dictate less people are buying it for that purpose, therefore with X million less sites buying it, it follows that sales of PLR would be lower overall. increasing the competition, and perhaps lowering process still further.

        "Not if it's high quality."

I struggled with that for a while, but I can the point you are making.
However if you are going to take the trouble to research and and write say 15 x 800 high quality articles, I would say it would be far more profitable in the long term to put them on your own website as it would likely bring far more revenue than selling them as PLR, being original they would almost certainly get some SE traffic at some point, after one year you would have a huge authority site, and may be making what? 20k per month with no further effort.

Undoubtedly there is still money in selling PLR, but personally I am not convinced that PLR is good road to take for someone like the OP starting from scratch, if anyone who has done this in the last 12
months and is earning a decent living from it can prove me wrong then great, I will stand corrected and the OP can give it shot knowing he is in with good chance.

I'm not sure I would choose to go into PLR if I was starting from scratch now. I made a very good living with it for a few years but this year was rougher. I still made some decent money, however, it was half that of last year. Of course, I also had a lot of time offline due to health and other issues, but I'm hearing the same thing from other PLR providers.

PLR is still an excellent investment but unfortunately, misconceptions on how to use it and when to use it are prevalent. You'll see a lot of so-called experts say it's a bad thing now, after Panda/Penguin, but they're wrong. It's only a bad thing if you use it incorrectly.

This has always been the case, actually.

To get into selling PLR now, I would recommend to come up with a new twist and aim for the market segment that knows how to use PLR the right way. Don't try to mass-market article packs because that market is mostly made up of the folks who don't have a clue how to use it effectively.

I agree with RougeOne. If your primary goal isn't ranking on Google, then high quality PLR articles probably wouldn't hurt. But from the standpoint of trying to offer a somewhat unique and original site, I wouldn't use PLR articles without at least rewriting/editing the articles. I'm sure plenty of people would pay for them assuming they're priced right. You can't price them at the same prices an original article would go for. You'd probably do better selling them in packages organized by niche (i.e. wood polishing package, stain removal package, etc.).

What about other PLR products? Like EBooks?

To be honest it's all about quality. It's not about the PLR itself. If you have extremely... and I mean extremely high quality PLR... it'll sell with some promotion. If it's okay, and especially if it's poorly written, don't expect many sales. Simple as that. As for niches to write in, I'd diversify. Some popular new trends... evergreen niches... a little bit of everything generally works well unless you focus and specialize in a specific niche and/or for a particular market.

So basically I need to do a lot of research to find a niche or topic that people are interested in and write batches of high quality articles and wait for some sales...

Does anyone here sell PLR articles? If so, hows that working out for you?

Thanks for the responses guys. So I guess I will avoid making a PLR store for now and just focus on building a list in a particular niche... seems like a better idea.

There are many ways you can produce and sell PLR. The current market is ebooks, video tutorials and PLR websites. Creating a video series and selling it with PLR is what I would suggest. There is a larger demand for it than articles.

I still buy PLR to rework and rebrand, and I know others do too. But like someone said, quality is the thing. It has to be great quality though - and even then I take it apart and totally rework it.

The point is, if we're buying, then someone has to be selling, so there is still a market for good quality product - as always.

        Cheers,

If you use Googles Keyword Tool you'll see that searches for PLR, Private Label Rights, MRR, Master Resell Rights and other related search terms is very low. I've found that in reality PLR material is very niche.

You need to either rework your PLR or use some outside the box tactics to move your PLR products but it is possible to sell it.

I guess most people buy PLR, MRR stuff from WSO, tradebit.com and others websites they already know that produce high quality PLR content.
They usually don't search for that on google, they already know where to go. at least that's what I do

I would say yes it's profitable if you produce quality PLR,once you convince your target clients that you can have them quality, then you are in for profit.
    So work on quality first
    Good luck!

People are making money with it, as long as they know what they are doing. Make sure it is high quality or else use unique content instead. Good luck!
