Need Help with Google Analytics

3 replies
I'm selling an ebook on one domain, processing payments with PayPal, and providing downloads on the original domain using DLGuard hosted another. So it's something like this:

domain1 -> PayPal -> domain2(DLGuard) -> domain1

I'm trying to get analytics to properly track Adwords conversions, but they keep getting attributed as direct traffic. Regular Adwords conversion tracking works fine, so I don't know what the problem is.

Any ideas?

    Hi chris,

    Did you link your analytics account in the adwords interface?

    Are you using Goals/Funnels and do you have your analytics code on your sales and thank you pages? It's different from the regular trackng code you get in the adwords interface.

    Yes, Adwords autotagging is on and clicks and spend appears in analytics. I have goals set up for sales and mailing list opt ins, and opt ins seem to work fine. All pages are tagged with the analytics tag (except paypal obviously).

    I'm seeing sales goals reached and counted, but being attributed to direct traffic and not Adwords.
