Help setting up an affiliate program for services?

As the title suggests, I'm looking for help in setting up an affiliate program for certain SEO related services I offer. I've been doing some research, but still am not sure of the best way to proceed. Maybe you all have some advice?

The process goes something like this...
- Client places an order by submitting required information about their site.
- I review the information first and then invoice via PayPal.
(I have chosen to manually review the information first before receiving payment to ensure I feel comfortable accepting the order)
- Client pays and I complete the work in the allotted time.

So as you can see this is not a digital product that could pay out commissions automatically. I'm comfortable with that. I'm just unsure of how I can setup an affiliate program for the service business model I outlined above. To this point I've taken on a few affiliates on more of an honest-policy model...If the client lists a referrer I kick back a certain % of the sale price. This does not seem scalable to me though, which is why I'm here. Enlighten me friends.

      Yes it is.

      However I also have a thread here in the Warrior Forum offering the same services. I do link from my sales thread to my WP site though for the order process so I suppose this is a non-issue.

    Why not have the client contact you first to make sure you are comfortable with it and then direct them to the sign up page - wishlist/amember or whatever you want to use...

      That makes sense and I've considered it but I'm still not sure how that helps with my affiliates.

      I want to recruit affiliates who promote my services and who get paid in as much of a "hands-off" way as possible, YET still be able to manually approve orders before invoicing my clients. Maybe I'm over-thinking it? Maybe it's not as important that I manual aprove orders (though I think it is)? Maybe it's not possible to do both things? That's why I'm here.

      This sounds more like paying for leads.
      My initial thoughts were CPA networks... perhaps even B2B media buys...

    You may be overthinking it yes. But then again I understand that you may not want to work with everyone...

    So I'm thinking; create guidelines for those who wants to work with you to read before they contact you. Make sure they have read it. In there you state what you do and what you don't, your terms. Once they have paid you can direct them to a questionnaire wher they can fill out more information about the project.

    My affililate program goes throguh amember - my affiliates send people to the page for the product and they buy and then get redirected to a questionnaire, depending on the product.

        For some services yes, not big website projects because they get quoted individually. But for some graphic services and also for my coaching I do.
