How do you get traffic these days? (non-seo, non-paid)

Hi Barber,

The only things I can think of at the moment that are non-SEO, and non-paid traffic sources are Video marketing (ie: Youtube); Twitter; and Facebook. But...

Since social media is now becoming an integral part of online marketing -- I guess it all goes back to SEO (or "non non-SEO") anyways!

Yes, Social Media is one of the best source of traffics nowadays. It is only effective if your niche/topics are interesting that the members of social networks will tweet, like, share, reddit, and pin it!

There are lots of ways, just make sure you are going to where your clients are hanging out and put messages or soft sells infront of them.

For me I get a good amount of traffic buy palcing free ads at www.trafficswarm.com and on craigslist and backpage.

I also get traffic by using my signature on forums.

Forums and CERTAIN social bookmarks site drive targeted traffic. The key is to use RESPONSIVE CONTENT - ie., stuff that is relevant to the specific discussions on the forum and interest coverage of the social bookmark site.

Another great way to boost traffic is through Twitter interchanges using @ to popular people that get them excited. Use hashtags correctly and you can explode your message's coverage.

Hi Barber,

Forum posting, blog hopping, pinterest, FB and G+ all work to a point for me, although it's not exactly targetted in the same way paid traffic is. I'm not the best at some of them, but for me paid traffic is still way more effective. Is there a reason for not wanting paid traffic?

I have heard of people buying expired domains. Basically a domain which used to get traffic, it expires you move in and land traffic still coming there.

  That makes great sense if there's a direct fit between the domain's old traffic and the site you're directing the traffic to. Also, the drop off in traffic volume must be considered in relations to the amount of cash paid for the expired domain....

You know a lot of people here hate Traffic Exchanges and that is fine with me because it just leaves more sales for me.

But I get incredible results with Traffic Exchanges, thousands of hits weekly at about 77% unique rate beats anything I have found that cheap or if you are willing to work at it even Free.

I think YouTube is one of the best free way to get traffic right now.

Why?

* 3rd largest website in the world
* 50%+ of internet traffic after 5PM is video. Cisco is predicting that by 2013, 90% of internet traffic will be video
* Google owns them so you can be more aggressive with SEO, and they're way easier to rank
* videos are generally more engaging than text

IMO, if you're not using video, you're missing out on a huge chunk of traffic you could be getting

Multiple traffic funnels pointed to a dedicated squeeze. Now you control the traffic you send to the offer. You control the actual mindset of the traffic going to your offer if you learn to market to the traffic.

I'm using ezinearticles and Squidoo lenses to drive traffic to my websites. It is working because I have already written too many articles and I have already created 82 lenses. You have to keep updating your lenses to get traffic, what is time consuming. You also have to ping them. I use a pinging tool.

I’m not an internet marketer. I work with mental health, self-help, brain power, etc. Many of the methods that work for internet marketing are useless for me.

I am using solo ads because my niche is very dependent on targeted traffic. So I don't want to use cheap traffic or free traffic which can't get me what my niche need. If you decide to try solo ads, I suggest you to try and adjust every solo ads you meet. You can't really depend on one type of solo ads in a long term basis, there is too much risk of losing money without any result if you pushing your luck.

Right now I rely on google SEO because my niche is very specific. There is not much competitor in my niche and it is an easy business with low profit. I am using quantity method to increase my page rank, using a lot of unique short article with SEO. I've been doing well with this method so I suggest you to do the same, in case your niche type is similar with me.

you are familiar with tumblr,
you have time to spend,

I can help your to get good amount of targeted traffic everyday. To put it simply, you will set a tumblr acount, post a good image with a proper tag, add back-link to your website / squeeze page / product review blog, etc. If you really doing it, don't follow anyone because it will appear in your follower newsfeed.

The best traffic, leveraging other people's traffic. Blogging, Social Media, and joining networks that are looking to share your content, you just have to put it infront of them. But, traffic that produce sales, Solo Ads, Paid Traffic (Media Buys) and having affiliates promote your offers. PPC is not bad once you know what you're doing, 7search is pretty good for getting response. Find where the traffic is and put your website infront of it But, I will tell you, if you want to find the most productive traffic, most people won't tell you - venture out on your own and visit different websites and test.

Youtube and social media. Youtube is where it is at, though -- especially since they revised their homepage. The days when people like Chris Crocker and Shaycarl dominated Youtube are over. The homepage is cookie and subscriber driven now, which means you can literally build your own audience, and then sell to them.

Make good videos, publicize them with social media, build a subscriber list, and then use the videos to drive laser focused traffic to your point of sale site.

The fastest and cheapest way in my opinion to get numbers of visitors to your site, or subscribers on a landing page is by using the kind of sites link-service site like Adfly or Linksbucks.
But you might not get targeted visitors with these options.

Some fantastic information here, I have always been looking for a fast track way of doing things and it looks like the best traffic it the type that is built up. I don't however want to do this myself as I am tied up invsting in property and creating products as we have a niche in property investment in the UK.

What is the different between social book marking and social media?

Is anyone on here open to doing a joint venture on a reciporcal or commission basis?

I use announcement channel to generate free traffic after publishing each article and do SEO to get traffic from god father - Google.

If you have a blog, just join some communities which are relevant to your niche then its easy to get free targeted traffic.
