Ok warriors, I've used the search function, but I couldn't find
the definitive thread for blogging, so I decided to start one.

For this thread lets talk about everything blogging!

Such as:

Tips and tricks with blogging
how to sell something with your blog
how to advertise in your blog
seo for your blog
personal secrets you've uncovered with blogging
plugins you use
Templates that have worked for you
etc

---This can also be a questions and answers thread---

I will start out with a few tips:

1. Use wordpress on your own domain and hosting! Seriously!
2. Use All-in-one SEO plugin

I also have a few questions:
1. Is it better to publish 3-5 new blog posts daily vs. submitting your articles to article directories? (EZA)
2. Is it okay to have 500 published blog posts with On-page SEO mostly, and Social bookmarking for backlinks? (No article marketing) Or use some content for article marketing?

    I think it is better to use both. You can write two versions of your articles. One for your blog post and one for your article marketing. You can do this easily with an Article spinner Software.

    One of the best and most simple tips we give clients? Use Wordpress. It's the easiest platform to learn from scratch (besides Blogger) and offers a more professional appearance and a wider variety of template options. Even better, do an .org install on your own URL!

    To me the only thing that matters is getting my blog post on the first page of google by precisely picking a long tail keyword for the title that I can beat every other site for that keyword because my site's PR is higher. Then once they get to the page, optimize monitization.

    To answer your questions:

    1. it is all about the long tail keywords you target...and the order of posting the articles live...it must be in EZA first then your blog post (with more long tail keywords)

    2. i would go for quality article with proper long tail keywords (of course do your research first) ...backlink through your keywords to your blog .....and also driving in targeted readers so you can get them to opt in for your freebie and buy the related product or service in your product funnel.

    You must use both. Just be sure that your articles very convincing and very realistic. And it should be full of content in your blogs rather than submitting many articles to article directories.

      1. do long-tail keyword research (I use MicroNiche Finder, but there are many others)

      2. use your long-tail keyword in your title and obviously a few times in your post.

      3. Make sure you change the permalink structure to /%postname%/ so your long tail keyword also shows in your url for that post.

      4. get backlinks from high pr sites that are dofollow...NOT just to the main page, but to your individual posts AND use your long-tail keyword as anchor text for those backlinks to the individual posts.

      5. Also, I use the Platinum SEO plugin

    Submit articles to EZA and use other directories to link back to articles in EZA and blog posts.

    For me if you are serious about blogging then WP is a must and on your own host. As for the number of posts per day, I noly ever post once per day maximum in the IM niche, and in other niches usually only once per week.

    Obviously this all goes out the window with my autoblogs as it depends on what is providing the content. As for plugins, yes all in one seo is a must but on the money making side of things I have started using Max Banner Ads which is awesome at rotating, tracking banners on your site and you can put them anywhere, this has improved my cpa earnings no end
