.ME = Unprofessional?

3 replies
Hey Warriors,

I'm looking to open my 3rd business online and the name I really really really want is registered on all extensions except .ME. I want it because its a keyword domain that gets a lot of searches per day (around 20k) and I know that for SE's it doesn't matter what extension you have. But do you think it would be unprofessional? It's a "business" but I'm going to offer some free things in my niche and make money of off ads and sponsors. Should I stick with the .ME or look for a .com? I'am asking this because I think .coms are more professional but I wanted your opinion.

Thanks,
Conrado

    .Com's always look better. And by default, .Me sounds a bit personal. But don't let that hold you back.

    My advice: Grab it before someone else does.

    Well, I look at .ME extensions as about a person so in that regard, being more of a personal nature.

    The market that gets 20K searches, How many competing pages? You'll definitely want to know this unless you plan on spending cash on other forms of advertising.

    Definitely go for .com

    You can always figure out something by adding some other word to the domain.

    Go for example to Godaddy.com --> register new domain, type in your domain in the box, hit enter, and there will be loads of variations appearing below - you may choose the most suitable one for you.
