What Are Admin cPanel's?

Hello my brothers and sisters,

I was looking for some premium blog themes online, I have came across themeforest/codecayon, and found a few top selling themes that were "admin cpanels"...

I'm not talking about the wordpress ones, they are HTML admin control panel templates.

I was wondering if I install them on my website, what do they do?

Is it like a simpler HTML versioned wordpress kind of content management template?

I'm asking here because the seller don't mention what their template do, instead, they kept focusing on the icons, codes, columns, how it looks like... but doesn't talk about what they do -_-

Sorry for some random questions...

Ummmm, why not ask the seller?
After all they would be in the best position to answer your question....

Actually we are all related - i.e. the human race. Personally I find it endearing when somebody uses those terms.

Ellie: To try to answer your question, I think that those templates are simply customized admin panels which have more or less capabilities depending on which one you choose. For most Wordpress based sites they probably don't offer any needed functionality over the standard Wordpress admin panel.....

One of my hosts has just installed a new theme for cpanel, which has a sleek, sexy new look if I type in mydomain.com/cpanel

    Is that what you mean?

This is the latest version of cPanel 11.34

Hopefully all web hosts using cPanel have upgraded. There's some great new features in WHM.

Oh ok. They don't all look the same though? The one I've attached to this post is Hostgator. I was thinking the different looks were maybe different themes?

Nope, it doesn't look like they've upgraded, yet. The first picture you posted is the latest release - 11.34

EDIT: cPanel has added some features & removed some deprecated 3rd party software - I don't think there were any security updates though. I haven't completely read through the release notes yet.

There are actually a lot of different admin themes for cPanel. Seems like the person is selling those as well as wp themes.

Personally I don't like cPanel and I was surprised to see ads all over Hostgator's cpanel. If I'm paying for the software, I don't expect to see ads. It would be odd if Word started doing that.

From what I can see from the functions, it is not the same as the hosting cpanels.

Some examples here (not sure if I can post them here):
White Label - a full featured Admin Skin
      Simpla Admin | Sign In
      Constellation Admin Skin

They look like the dashboard of wordpress, but slightly different in functions...

They look good, but I don't know how to use them..

      Any ideas?

It's not cPanel that's putting ads in there, it's HostGator.

Are they kind of admin cpanels (just like wordress) to manage HTML based blogs, and stats?

OK - I'm guessing here and h0opefully someone with better knowledge than we will chime in. It looks as if that is part of a suite of templates that a programmer could use if they were coding a site where users could log-in and make their own changes.

So, for example, Wordpress has similar functionality and so do a lot of the online web builders - Weebly, Wix etc.

It's a custom designed back-end that can be used for any application that has the functionality for a user to log-in and make changes for themselves.

      Was that total gobbledegook??

After looking through them again, they are just UI skins. They can be used for anything really, but you need to know how to link what functions to what.

So then, if I don't link anything, nothing is functioning then?

That made me laugh. You said in one short sentence, what I struggled to say in a whole paragraph

Ellie - they aren't website templates. Ignore them unless you want to design a User Interface.
