Anyone Else Seen a Recent Drop in Visitors?

Over the last week, my visitor numbers have been a bit lower than usual on both my sites. I'm hoping this is just because of Sandy and the American election.

Anyone else noticed a bit of a drop?

I suspect some of it has to do with people switching off computers and TV's due to the election ads and coverage.

BUT to answer your question...I have noticed a very slight drop of around 3% across my bank of sites...not really statistically relevant overall.

Thanks BKKBound. Mine are down about 20% which is why I was hoping it was some outside factor. But it is on both sites, which I hoped supported the outside factor theory. It is a bit discouraging though.

Sandy may have effected the traffic flow a bit. May be your site targets the US traffic and that is why you have noticed such drop percentage.

You should also note that if your traffic comes from Google there was an update recently.

  Yes, someone posted a few days ago that there was an update to Panda (I think). I can't think that Sandy could be responsible for a 20% drop.

If your visitors coming from Google then it can be of latest Google panda updates.

If it happened in the last 24 hours there was a PR update followed by a 'Panda Update.' It could be that.

I think it must have been Sandy plus the election because my visitor numbers recovered after that week. My site went up one Page rank as well, which is nice...about time too.
