Which of These YouTube Traffic Strategies Do You Prefer?

Which of these traffic strategies do you prefer to use with your YouTube videos?

A) Insert a specific keyword phrase into your video's "title" and "tags" in an attempt to get your video to rank in the search engines.

B) Find a similar video to yours on YouTube that has a high number of views. Then copy that videos tags in an attempt to get your video to show up as a "related video" whenever the ultra-popular video gets viewed.

C) Other. (Please explain).

Anyone happen to know the "best practice" regarding this?

I usually go with option A.

You can also infuse article like content into your description area to pick up on more of the search traffic without looking to spammy.

neither, I find videos with a lot of views in a niche then make a video response, giving credit to the original poster of the video.

  That would be my favorite as well. It's funny how many great videos don't have video responses.

I don't believe there is a "best practice". As with any traffic source you need to diversify. There's some cool tricks leveraging video sharing sites and YT isn't the only game in town.

Also keep in mind if you really want to get the most exposure in anything online you need to scale.

  I will usually go with option A to get my own stuff ranked, but not be against using option B as a secondary option.
