Google opening new windows

The last few days, when I do a search and click on my selection, Google opens up a new page with the results. Is this Google's new way of operating, or did I do something to change this? It drives me nuts. (I know it is a short drive " but I often forget to close the additional pages and I get so many pages open my computer locks up.

I always have many pages open in Firefox, so memory is stretched and running Vista, it is a real problem.

Is there anything I can do to stop this from happening?

    Right click and select open in new tab, or check your browser settings, for open links in new window, and change it to open links in new tab.

    Or someone with access to your computer could be trolling you

    I think your browser setting may might have changed (either from an install, or perhaps someone used your computer?)

    You can check to see what your current setting is for clicking a link... is it open in a new tab OR is it open in a new window, etc.

    I finally found it and was able to change it. I just wonder how it got changed. My wife thinks someone gets into her computer and messes stuff up. Maybe she is right. I don't have all the problems she does, so I tend to not believe it. Why would anyone want to get into our computers?

      When weird things happen for no apparent reason, go with your hunches.
      For starter, I would at least check for malware, etc.(These stuff change computer settings, so... )
