Fiverr removed dates of reviews and your gigs you buy may be public

Anyone else noticed this? Now when I read the reviews there are no dates associated with each one like there used to be.

I always found the dates of the reviews helpful. If a provider had recent reviews I knew they were active and would probably finish my job on time.

Another change I noticed is that for some types of gigs the work you have done could be displayed for everyone to see. that's nice when you want to see the quality of work a provider does but not so nice that everyone can see what you are doing.

    Yes, I've noticed that.
They probably are "adjusting" to maximize the ROI and not users' experience/benefits.

They also added the displaying work feature to help combat the buy to refuse epidemic that fiverr sellers suffer daily.
There was a hot topic even here today where a guy designed an E-cover for a guy who refused delivery on it.
Turns out he allegedly took the e-cover and is now using it for his WSO.
I would say that guys who build backlinks get a lot of chancers pulling the same crap on them. So now when you can display to the public (prospective buyers) proof that the neg review is fraudulent or misleading. It offers sellers a little more protection frombeing ripped off. A good addition from a sellers point of view in my mind.

I can see how it could an advantage to the seller but not for buyer. I should have the right to say if the work I paid for is made public or not.

Also removing the dates of the reviews certainly helps the sellers but again not the buyers. The date of the reviews was one of the best ways to tell if a gig is active and if the buyer is still fullfilling orders recently.

Hmmm. Got to check this out.

You mean they actually show the completed gig? Sheesh!

About recent activity though... I believe there used to be a way to look up when the seller was recently active on Fiverr - and wondering if that feature has gone away too. If not, that would certainly help.

Still, it's definitely not helping the buyer experience. And if enough buyers stop buying, maybe Fiverr will rethink some of that stuff.

Not everything should be about the buyer. The seller is equally important.

I just noticed in your article that Fiverr now prohibits any links to personal websites since offer the portfolio function. I think this may well be one of the key reasons they introduced it - to prevent buyers and sellers from connecting outside of Fiverr.

Actually, both help the GIG PROVIDER. This is a step in the right direction.

It's in the wrong direction for buyers.

As a buyer, I shouldn't have to tell someone the work I am paying for can't be used for promotional purposes. They should ask me and get my permission each time.

I should also know when reviews are left. In the job market a potential employer won't take a resume serious if the times of employment are left off.

Fiverr is giving a great opportunity for the right company to come in and knock them out.
