Relatively new to IM - I want to get started

Hello,

As the title says, I'm rather new to IM and I have not actually done anything as of now. I still have a LOT to learn about the models and methods and everything in general. I want to start somewhere that I won't be spending 5 hours a day to maintain it because I am a full time student.

So, with that being said.

What is a good method/model that I can set up myself and pull $75-100 a week on?
I'm a quick learner and just about anything should work and I have between novice and intermediate coding skills.

I apologize if this is a horribly obvious question.

    Hi Jared,

    In fact any model works as long as you commit to one model.

    There are plenty from CPAs, PPC, selling of products, service, blogging and so on.

    Choose one and follow up with it relentlessly.

    There are many threads in this forum and you can choose 3 which you want to learn and use the search feature.

      I will be sure to use the search function from now one, I just wasn't sure what to search.

      Ill research some more models and find some I like.

      John is absolutely right.

      You must work on one method relentlessly. As long as you stick with one until you see results you will succeed. Once you see the results you simply keep doing the same thing.

      You don't need to spend any money yet. All the info you will need to get started is on this forum.

      The search feature is your friend.

    Well, the best way I would say for a starter is that

    1. Sign up for an aweber account (Email Marketing Software, Email Newsletters and Autoresponders by AWeber)

    2. Set up a squeeze page with your list code
    (example: Traffic Generation System - Your Guide to Keyword Domination in Google!)

    3. Set up your One Time Offer that will redirect the subscriber after they opt-in
    (example: One Time Special Offer Template #3)

    4. Set up your follow up email series. Make it as personalize as possible

    5. Join free giveaway event

    8. Last step is start generation traffic to your site.

    Well, this is the basic step and I can't go into detail for all the steps, but hope it will help you get started

    @Jared, as Mark has reinforced...the keyword is not "which model"...it is infact "one model and relentless"...to your success!

    PLUS you get to be comfortable with it...people can suggest this and that..but if you do not feel that it is your style..find something else which you like. =)

    Just build and maintain a list in a very popular and profitable niche, a list can be cared for in as little as an hour a day, and that is including building it, adding new content to it and converting sales with it.

    give your list one solid piece of info everyday, a list is an asset that can pay you for life.

      @Nicholas - I understand what a niche is, but what exactly do you mean by a niche list? Is that writing down every good niche you come across and then taking part in it when you get to it in your list? Or is it something else?

        A niche list is simply a list of customers targeted to a specific niche.

    I'm a fan of super niche affiliate marketing using Wordpress, personally. You can take as long as you like to set the site up, and if you chose the right keywords, it takes very few backlinks to hit the #1 spot on google.

    Depending on how fast of a writer you are YMMV, but from creation to top spot on google for my primary keyword takes me on average 14 hours. It's pretty easy to put up 1 site a week once you get the process down.

      There are a few different ebooks out there that cover what I'm doing. Unfortunately the one that really boosted my earnings is no longer available. If I recall correctly, one of the forum members in here was linking to a warrior special offer in his sig, I think it was called Micro Niche Sniper. That'd probably be a good start.

      Depending on how new you are to it, you may want to check out The Minisite Formula by Joel Peterson. It is extremely newbie friendly, so if you've got no prior experience it's definitely worth checking out.

    I'm sorry if someone tells you that "by just writing articles or doing ppc and getting traffic to your website and you can see money start coming in like clockwork", this is not internet marketing, this is get rich quick scam!

    Ask any experienced marketers here and they will tell you it takes a lot of hard work to make the income they are having now. Internet marketing is like driving a car, you need to gain power when in gear 1, gain more power in gear 2 and speed up in gear 3.

    If you want to make your first $1 in internet marketing, you need to engage

    Gear 1 - Find a hungry crowd
    Gear 2- Find out what they really want
    Gear 3 - Give it to them (articles, ppc, youtube, social bookmarking etc)

    You don't need to spend a single cent to make your first $1 online. Forget about all those keyword software because your brain is the best keyword tool!

    The best advice that I have received here is that you need to stay focused. Pick one plan and stick with it. Keep going and going. Sort of like the Engergizer bunny. Do not quit, because quitters only fail.

    For me I chose blogging as my means to start building an income stream. This is my project at the moment. I am thinking of starting a thread documenting my experiences.

    I have had the most success with physical product Review sites. It is simple and easy to get started. If you can put up a wordpress site, become an Amazon or Commision Junction affiliate you can promote literally anything. Find a good program to learn the basics of SEO, get your site ranked in google and start making money...but be patient...and consistent.

      Hi there Jared,

      The truth is there is no "quick and easy" method to make money online. If there were, then we'd all be millionaires by now. Every successful Internet Marketer will tell you that all of their success comes from hard work and dedication.

      That being said, there are ways that do not take as long as others. Instead of looking for a quick and easy way to make money, I'd advise you to look for a "slow and steady" way to make money. A plan that you will only have to put in a few hours each week, but building towards something big.

      You will not make a lot of money in the beginning, in fact you might make no money in the beginning, but overtime you will see your profits increase. Take the time to search for a legitimate plan or technique that you can invest you time in. Do not be afraid of failure. Failing is a part of Internet Marketing and it's something that you need to learn from and get better from.

    Jared, what are your interests? What are your present skills and abilities?

    Obviously, you want to pick a method or system that aligns as much as possible with what I've stated above.

    Once you've done that, the key is to focus on it consistently and relentlessly until you make some headway. Do not make the classic newbie mistake of jumping from system to system, as it really does take some time and effort to see appreciable results with your IM, no matter which method or system you pick to implement.

    Hi Jared,
    I can tell you from experience that every method has some sort of learning curve and like others have said you shouldn't try to learn every method before you decide to take action.
    Focus and persistence are very important as well as fighting the "information overload". I would suggest you start looking into a few different methods and find out their potential costs (in dollars or time) and then make an educated decision about how to move forward.

    There are so many models to do this. The most important and best is Article Writing. Another way to do it is Outsourcing. Dependin on your budget you can go for either option. As outsourcing is bit expensive. So try going for Article Writing. Cheers

    Stay focused. Other members have mentioned about the different models available to make money online. Research these methods, and pick one that you think will suit you.

    A little bit tip to help you, if you want to start small, and are patient, then start with promoting affiliate offers ( CPA or CPS doesn't matter) by setting up a website and driving search engine traffic using SEO, apart from other free traffic.

    If you have a bit bigger budget (around $300 or more), then you might want to try doing PPC to CPA marketing. PPC traffic should be able to bring you fast, targeted traffic to your offer. Depending on your conversion, it could prove profitable fast.
