That depends upon what you have now, sir.

The key variables in any problem are impossible to define without knowing the existing equation.

I would probably invest it towards banner ad.

Since you didn't tell us your experience, talents, and time limit this is what I'd do.

I would use it on paid traffic. PPC for sure.

Look for coupon vouchers first and use them up, then use the $50.

I would either direct link or make a squeeze page. Depends on niche and what I was promoting.

    **warning**
You're going to need experience or talent or both to make a profit this way, especially with $50. But I've done it more than once when all I had were lint balls in my pockets.

Start the campaigns very slowly and tweak often to make your conversion ration sky high.

$50 isn't enough. Forget earning online.

Ppc etc requires lot of reading, wsos, blueprints, split testing and hours and 100s\1000s of potential failures because you can guarantee success each time.

Be real and start earning more first or work towards free websites like fiverr and freelancer.

Not knowing where you are makes it hard to come up with good ideas on how to spend the money.

However, you probably can't go wrong with doing some research and then investing in a domain name (or several), hosting (with the first month probably almost free), an autoresponder (ditto), and then getting to work creating a highly desirable freebie you give away to your subscribers.

      Then get the word out.

      Ways to invest the money...

Depending on your niche, you may want to try Facebook ads rather than Adwords, but I'm no expert in either of them. I just heard that you get cheaper clicks with FB advertising.

Or look into press releases. And also publish some articles (those would be free, except for the writing time - unless you want to invest some of your $50 in having them written for you).

      Good luck!

Consider facebook ads to drive traffic to your website
Fiverr deals (tweet deals, you can get 16,000 tweets for 5$)
You can also hire someone to create backlinks for your website
You could also request 10 good articles to be written for you
But it all comes down to the fact that 50$ is way to little for anything serious, and it would be really difficult to triple that amount in 2-3 days.

      Good luck,
      tziahs

You can't enter IM when you are broke. You will end up in debt.

      $50 is not broke, dude.

$50 buys 50,000 words at Fiverr. Slap that on blogger.com, activate adsense, get crazy with free traffic sources and make that $50 back then buy more content. The secret? The correct keyword targets and blog strategy.

In today's world, the sad truth is that $50 isn't going to get you very far. I would start by looking into free traffic sources like social media. The first purchase I would make with that money would be an AWeber account. Then possibly a war room sub. Then put what you've learned to work!

$50 is a decent amount to get started building your online business. There are so many choices out there that it ultimately up to you how you decide to invest it. If you're a big risk taker I would go with go with a PPC campaign. If you would like to play it safe you can invest in domain, hosting and autoresponder services and drive traffic to your funnel.

Liven up. $50 is chickenfeed, and the poor guy is better off using it for postage stamps to send off multiple copies of his CV for a regular job.

You enter IM with a plan, some experience, and at least a reasonable amount of starting capital. Not with a dream, no clue, and only 50 bucks . . which will break both your heart and bank when you lose it.

    I'd get:

    - An Autoresponder (Getresponse, Aweber)
    - Hosting
    - And a Domain

    Then I'd:

    - Create a quality ebook in a Hungry, Profitable Market. (Fitness Niche, Weight Loss, Dating and Relationships etc.)
    - Price it between $9.95-$20
    - Put it on JVZoo and Give 100% Commission
    - Contact Big Affiliates within that market and start networking with them.
    - Create an OTO/Upsell that would complement your initial ebook and that is where you make the money, PLUS you build a buyers list of which you can then further build a relationship with and promote more of your products or affiliate offers to them in the future.

With your $50 investment you would still be left with a decent amount of change. The only thing it would consume a fair amount of is TIME. :-)

    Best of Luck!

WOW, this has never been asked before.

STOP with the set amounts and ask what you will need, and it will probably be at least $50.00 per month, if you can not come up with that then just get a job

Uhh... some of the advice in here is scary.

If ALL you have is $50 for a budget, put it back into your bank and use it to live. Ramen Noodles are your best friend in a time of need... and water to counteract all the Sodium you're going to have in your system.

What you'll probably end up doing disregarding what anyone says is purchasing a couple of $7 or $17 eBooks from the WSO section hoping they'll make you a success.

    However my advice:

Put your $50 away.. put it in the bank as I said and live.

You have no idea what you're in for. You need a clue on what you'd like to do, what you'd like to pursue and a clear goal for yourself. If your goal is "to make money", you're going to fail. No one's logging online to make you money, people have problems they want solved or questions they want answered.

If you're that hard up at the moment, provide a freelancer service for something that you're good at here on the forum or at one of the other various places to find work at.

There's Textbrokers, Elance and IWriter just to name a few.

Sure, they're not ideally high pay or desirable pay but if times are that rough that you only have $50 to spend, I don't think I'd be too picky on what jobs I was doing.

Ignore anyone telling you to invest into paid traffic. Pay Per Click is definitely not an area that the newbie should be venturing into. Before you know it, you'll have a negative one thousand dollar account because you forget to set a certain setting and you picked horrible keywords and not only that but you'll find out that there was not a single sale to be made.

The most valuable investment you can put into IM isn't money or a dollar amount but it's time and effort. By effort I mean proper audience and market research, product/website development and marketing. Throwing money at a website isn't enough, you need to understand why people need to come to that website, why they would want to in the first place, how it can help them and a whole laundry list of other things.

This is kind of like one of those questions like "what product should I buy?" I would honestly say... none of them.

Thank you for your post, it truly illuminates the two different camps between those who dream things into reality and those who let reality crush their dreams.

A defeatist attitude not only ensures one closes one's self off from making money, one closes one's self off from making it period. The truth is, $50, in the hands of someone motivated and driven enough is more than what it takes to make it.

      The bottom line

If you feel ENTITLED to making a certain amount of money or ENTITLED to a certain lifestyle, this mentality will prevent you from seeing opportunities a little elbow grease, a lot of guts, an eagerness to learn and experiment, and a lot of planning can unlock.

Instead, dwell on the realization that we all aren't entitled to anything except the opportunity to compete. And that's where character kicks in.

To all the IM dreamers and newbies out there, may the star of your dreams burn bright and may you realize that you have the POWER within you to realize your dreams regardless of what defeated people and others who let their mentalities imprison them say...

      Your future begins today!

Good to know that its not your last $50 But if thats all you 'want' to spend on IM then I still say get some beer, youll get a lot more out of the beer than you will from spending it on IM.

A $50 budget is to low. Its a token effort. Anything that your going to do you should do all the way, or not at all.

Now your going to hear people who will say to you that .. live the dream, you can do it, $50 is plenty .. whatever. But Im going to ask you to ask them a question to qualify there response. Anyone who says this kind of stuff, ask them. Do they make there entire living or a substantial portion of there living online? If they cant say yes to that then they should not even be answering.

Me personally I say $50 is not enough unless you have a very minimal goal (like making a few random sales here and there) OR unless you have tons and tons of time to devote (like 10+ hours a day), and to qualify my answer, yes I have made my entire living online for the last 5 years.

An old idea I saw somewhere a while back.... buuuutttttt

You could use people on fiverr to make youtube videos and monetize the videos using cpa offers.

Get large amounts of viewers by piggy backing off of popular videos or create top ten, top twenty, etc. type videos.

    Hope that may help.

Beware, most of the people who advise you on WF don't earn anything themselves. They are here just for namesake.

There are 1000s of real gems but they would all agree that starting out in IM when you are desperate is one of the reasons most people fail.

    Just save your cash.

If I were you and knowing what I know about you in the first post (haven't read any further). I'd find what interests me, find the top leaders in that niche, see if they had coaching of any sort and save to get their coaching.

Group coaching is usually more inexpensive, but I prefer one-on-one access either via skype (or other instant messagers like AOL, gtalk, etc.) or phone. Get to know from those that have already succeeded in your area of interest. Note thought that you may need additional funds to actual start seeing some activity (money, traffic, list etc.) so ask before you commit to coaching about other funding you may need to succeed.

You could write 5-10 PLR articles and then sell them in the WSO section if you are a pretty good writer.

If not, pay someone to write them for you.

If you pick a hot topic and do a good job writing or outsourcing the articles, they will sell.

Even if you only break even, you will have a list of buyers. You can send them an email when your next batch is ready. Mail Chimp is a free autoresponder that you can use.

With only $50 and no IM education you probably have a 1% of doing anything with it.

You could try to put $50 on black in Vegas and see if you could double up.

Or you could buy the warroom membership, and using all of the free methods you could find, try to make money that way.

But really, if I only had $50, I'd probably go to the thrift store, buy some clothes and start interviewing for jobs. Then, I'd work until I'd accumulated enough money to really invest in IM.
