my 10 year old domain

I have regular offline service business with a domain name that I've had for 10 years. I've heard old and established domains are favored by google.

Problem is, the site incorporates my name coupled with the type of business, my name is part of the domain name.

I also have lots of other interests and internet mktg. ideas.

1) What would be the best way to use my aged domain to an advantage for associating other sites not related by topic/concept to the aged domain so they could maybe get a free boost?

Also, I am a 25 year authority on what I do. I've wondered about a membership site I could use to teach newcomers to my field.

2) Where would I look for help in creating a membership site? I'm totally stupid on this topic (and many others too!)

I don't know if it's allowed so I didn't give my domain name, but I will if it's allowed.
