Affiliate Traffic – Affiliates have been the #1 traffic source in our business hands-down. Imagine having 100′s of marketers driving traffic FOR you while you’re able to focus on higher leverage activities in your business.

Guest Blogging –Not only do you get a nice windfall of very targeted traffic but you also develop priceless relationships with the top people in your industry.eg. SmartPassiveIncome.com,NetProfitsToday.com, FamousBloggers.net and ProBlogger.net.

Solo Ads- With a solo ad, you’re sending a dedicated email to someone else's subscriber list. So it’s laser-targeted traffic and as long as you have your sales funnel setup correctly you should be good to go.

PPC: Paid Advertising – This is similar to solo ads but instead of advertising in other people’s newsletter you’ll be advertising on their website.. Try Google’s AdWords or Microsoft’s AdCenter, but you need big bucks to start.

Seo/Article Marketing- Some people might claim that article marketing is dead, however I sill drive tons of traffic with it… best of all it’s free!!

Ad Swaps- Once you’ve grown a list of 500-1,000 subscribers, you can then start leveraging that subscriber list to grow even faster. You do this by ad swapping with other list owners.

Forum Marketing- This is an ‘Old-School’ tactic that still works like gang busters! I’m always surprised how little people really take advantage of this.

They don't always survive for long, Manie: when you use a trademarked word like "Facebook" in a domain-name, you often get a limited duration before their legal team eventually goes into action. That company is so litigous, and so zealously protective of its trademark, that it's even once sued someone just for using the word "face" in a domain-name!

What is ad swapping about? I've seen this but not sure how that works, how does one swap lists? Do they swap lists in the same niche to sell products that have not been marketed yet to that list?

How do you get affiliate traffic?

Could the problem be your site content rather than the traffic you're sending?

I don't use social media that much myself so I can't really comment on how effective it is for conversions, but after taking a look at the blog in your signature I can see some problems (if this is the Amazon blog you're talking about).

I realise English might not be your first language but spelling and grammatical errors, problems with sentence structure etc. can greatly decrease your sites ability to convert. Maybe get someone to proof read your content before publishing.

Yes, social media it really takes time to build. you can try facebook ads. you can base on the sex, age, interest, martial status, work place...to choose your target audience. so it's good for you to sell your amazon product.

By the way, you can buy $50 dollar ads coupon on Fiverr only $5. Try to test it, see how it works. The risk is low becasue it only costs $5 dollars.

Hope my answer is good for you.

    Have a great day.

    Cheers,
    Marcus

As an Amazon affiliate, paid traffic is likely to be a money-losing venture for most niches. You're going to need to do a lot of SEO and build up a large amount of free traffic, probably across dozens of sites.

How did a single person yet fail to mention the word "targeted". It doesn't matter where they're from, how you obtained the visitor or what your website is about but targeted visitors convert the best.

I appreciate that you won't want to say in public what your niche is (and I don't blame you, and am not asking), but what's a "general niche"?! The definition of the word "niche" revolves around specificity - exactly the opposite of generality, no?

I must admit my instinctive thought, on seeing the words "I've a general niche", was "Then change it, and quickly".

Anyway, I'm hoping you're not making the single commonest mistake that beginning marketers make, of starting off with anything related to "make money online" or "internet marketing advice/services".

        No not at all.
About the niche, lets say that my niche is Phones [it is not],I'm not going to cover only Apple's products or only phones,I will be covering everything that has to do with phones.

No one mentioned this source which now is becoming more prominent with all the panda and penguin updates: youtube. It is I believe the third largest search engine after google and facebook. I have been on youtube for a few years now and it converts better than any of my other traffic sources.

    1. PPC (if done right)
    2. Guest blogging (on relevant, high-traffic blogs. Oh, and if your article kicks a**)
    3. Banner ads (not something that flashes a million times per second, use something that has a catchy title/phrase and keep it simple)

Don't agree with this actually Alexa. Of course I would mostly defer to your superior IM experience, said sincerely. If you start marketing off in the best way, with the most solid and tested information behind you, you'll be able to sell items in any niche! It's all about presenting the right products in front of the right sets of eyeballs in the most effective way. And I'm not convinced that IM beginners can't do this sooner rather than later!

You can throw as much traffic as you want a site but if you're not taking the time to properly split test your site for the best results possible I'm afraid you'll always have the same results. It will take testing with any traffic source you decide to use and what may work for some may not be the same for others. You have to always assume those who are profitable have taken the time out to get to that point.

Alot of people are missing the point here.

There is no such thing. I have tested and tested and tested till blue in the face for my several niches, and different traffic tactics work better for different niches and the way you communicate and the way audiences interact with each other.

In the end, it comes down to massive traffic and tracking it like a hawk.

Yeah, if you're using paid traffic it's definitely best to understand the demos that use it...eg, people who use Bing search are not generally in the same demo as Google users...

And of course, conversion is not the same as ROI...targeting the U.S. on Facebook ads may yield the same conversion rate as targeting Peru, but you'll see higher ROI in the latter since your click costs are so much lower...

I think it might not only depend of your traffic source, but maybe change your sale funnel.
For me sale funnel is the most important aspect of a good conversion.

Have you check if there are video on YouTube related to your niche, and that got a good amount of traffic?

YouTube can be really powerful for reviewing product, because if you can rank your videos you will see an important increase of new targeted visitors to your site.

Be consistent in your traffic generating and good luck.

If you have the budget, then I would go for some solo ads...remember the most important thing is to build your list, try some free and paid advertising and see what works for you... but if you have funds then paid is the way to go.

    Hope this helps

Q: What Traffic Converts The Best?

A: The traffic that best matches what you're selling.

I can direct safelist traffic (I know most people cringe at this) to offers that
will have them falling over themselves to get them. For other offers, you won't
        even get a peep.

There is no such thing as good and bad traffic in a vacuum. It all depends on
what page you're sending that traffic to.

Solo ads is one of my best source, straight to the point direct subscribers and sales. Media Traffic from purchasing ads on related websites work GREAT too, more timely but once done properly, you can get a lot of targeted traffic. One of my campaigns cost $100 a month and over 500+ visitors a week to my squeeze page which has already paid for itself many times.
