That made me look up my sites. My first two sites were registered in June and Oct 2005. In those days I was running computer classes for adults and also workshops for the voluntary sector. One was registered as a place to upload my IT course books to sell to my private students without having to print them out and bind them, the other was registered as somewhere to put all the workshop materials for the voluntary sector.

Around that time I joined a UK IM forum that no longer exists.

Then 4 and a half years ago I went downhill healthwise and had to move. That was the catalyst that made me think that online was the way forward.

I have a butterfly mind - I know all about focus and action, but find it hard not to get sidetracked.

I am always trying new things, experimenting and finding what I do and don't enjoy doing. Right now I'm learning how to use a responsive theme framework. I'm not a coder, and it means getting down and dirty with the code. I'm getting stuck in and learning as I go. Google is my friend.

In recent months I have had to let most of my offline work go and so online is now my main source and my refuge from the real world. I had my best month ever last month - doing around $3.5k online. This month won't be so good, but it's shaping up ok.

That's not huge by most people's reckoning, but it's fine by me and I can live on it.

Hello Rose, this is great to hear and sounds like your doing well. I hope next month he do even better. With what you have achieved with your butterfly mindset is very good, most dont take any action and even haven't made there first $dollar onnline let along 4 figures. People get distracted As you know there's so much garbage out there it confuses the hell out of newbies and only makes things worse not knowing where to turn, who to trust.
Check our your blog, looking pretty good you can take advantage more of the visitors by having welcome and exit pop ups offering a free ebook/mini course or short report for subscribing....see my signature ;-)

    Hi Hamed,

I remember my VERY FIRST check I got from Clickbank, it was like $53.93. I was sooo excited because I finally made money online. That was back in 2006, so looks like I've been making money online for 6, almost 7 years!

Anyway, I would say my BIGGEST mistake early on was that I did not BUILD A LIST.

It's sort of hard to justify spending $30 per month on an autoresponder when I was only getting a few hundred per month from Clickbank.

Then, about 2008 - 2009, I decided to just give it a try (mainly because I got a month free trial on an autoresponder) and I haven't looked back since.

To any newbie out there - my advice would be to start an email list, give them value, and recommend (don't sell) related products to them.

What I mean by recommend is to email them and let them know why a particular product will benefit them. Don't just shoot off an email about a product because it has a high conversion rate.

Tell them why it's a great product, what they will get, and how it has helped you in any way.

Hope this helps - again, building a list was I think the missing link for me to make money online.

    Thanks
    Bryan
