congratulations matt! The only thing I remember after my first sale on clickbank was that I couldnt withdraw any money until you have around 5 seperate customers with different cards paying (to avoid any fraud!) !

I remember about 10 years ago I worked my butt off trying to set up websites and get traffic. My wife was bitching at me all of the time and wondered why I wasting my time. Then she got the first check and she shut up! In fact, she asked why I wasn't on the computer more. Funny how motivating that first check is. Congrats and go make some more!

Reminds me of a couple years ago, when I was still with my ex fiance (emphasis on the word ex.. for good reason.. lol) and going through cancer treatments. She was always complaining to me about how much time I was "wasting" on the computer and how I needed to go out and get another job (while I'm on chemo? who would hire me in that condition? my doctor even told me I shouldn't be working at the time lol). Oddly enough, I made my first affiliate sale early in the morning on her birthday the last year I was with her. I logged into my clickbank account that morning and noticed it, so I showed her and asked "Now, what job can I get that lets me earn money in my sleep?"

Sadly she still wasn't convinced, she honestly believed that the only way to earn an income was by working for someone else (strange since her parents were business owners and the house she was living in was bought and paid for by their business).

edit: BTW my first sale was almost by accident.. lol.. it was for a product called "Peel Away Ads" and I never really promoted it at all. I got the sale from putting one of their corner peel ads on a blogger blog that I was mostly just playing around with while I was learning about things like blogging and article marketing.

Congratulations - I still have a copy of my first click bank sales conformation, it is on the wall in my office along side my first adsense cheque.

I remember arguing with the bank because it was in $ not £ and all I could say was its from Google.

Way to go Matt!

Clickbank gives you a couple hoops to jump before you see the loot. There's the
minimum amount for pay out, and you have to sell to both Visa & MasterCard holders.

After a while, they start deducting if you don't make those hurdles, so do a lot more of what you did to get that one.

The answer is YES, you have a lot to do. Now that you have a sale, you know that product is lucrative. So concentrate your efforts towards getting additional sales on the product you sold.

First I like to congratulate for your first sale.

It is a good start as it shows you are doing something right.

Now your next step is to replicate the sales. If you are selling as an affiliate, then you can plan to make another sale with another product. It is an on-going proccess and since you have taken your first step in getting sales, it shows that you have made the right strategy. Learn from it and make more sales thereafter.

Keep it going until you reach a million dollars? Or whatever you have targetted yourself to earn!

And I appreciate all of the Warriors who have stepped forward to give you positive energy.

It really is a great feeling to know you sold something over the Internet. Somebody trusted you enough to purchase from you. Great!

Now that you've broken the ice, you need to keep the momentum going.

I think Clickbank has a great affiliate program. There lots of great products that you can promote in a wide variety of niches. Now that you have a winner, keep promoting it.

But you can also find some other products to promote.

The only problem is that you need to wait a couple of weeks to recieve your check.
