Accepting Payments In Australia

So I have a membership site and the idea is to have my own payment processor and affiliate software. I don't want to use paypal or clickbank. Most people recommend Authorize.net but that is not an option because I live in Australia.

So I figured I would use Eway. But then I discovered that Digital Access Pass (membership software I use) does not integrate with Eway directly (unless you also use 1siteautomation which is a further $34 month).

So the guys at DAP suggested "Worldpay" but this solution seems expensive to me and from Ireland or something? I haven't heard of Worldpay before. Can anyone recommend Worldpay for accepting payments in Australia? Does anyone use it? Or does anyone know of another payment solution I could use? Any help is very appreciated!

Google Checkout is Google’s answer to PayPal. Google Checkout allows users to pay for goods and services through an account connected to their Google profile. The major benefit that Google Checkout has over the competition is that millions of Internet users use Google for other services, making a purchase through their Checkout straight forward.

Amazon Payments allows its users to receive money using its API (and to send money out via ACH).

2Checkout is another payment processor that combines a merchant account and payment gateway into one, allowing customers to receive credit card payments as well as PayPal payments. The company offers international payments, shopping cart stores as well as a recurring billing feature.

    Sue,

The problem with Google Checkout, is that they don't allow recurring payments.

See this from Google: Recurring charges and subscriptions - Google Checkout Merchant Help

So, if you only need to take one-time payments, then Google Checkout (GC) is a good option, and DAP does integrate already with GC.

Nothing instead of Worldpay? I might have to run with Clickbank again but I would like to avoid that. It kind of makes DAP affiliate program redundant. Is there no other options available?

Google Checkout is also not available to Australian merchants, unless they are selling Apps (via Google Play.)

About Google Checkout - Google Checkout Merchant Help

      Availability
Google Checkout is available to U.S. and U.K. merchants. U.S. Google Checkout merchants must have a U.S. bank account and U.S. address, plus either of the following:
      • A Social Security number (optional) and a valid credit card
      • A Federal Tax ID/Employer Identification Number (EIN)
We're working towards making Google Checkout more widely available. At this time, however, we cannot provide any details regarding when Google Checkout will be available in specific countries.

Maybe the guys at DAP are able to do a paid custom mod for you to integrate with eway? Would be cheaper than paying the monthly fee for the other.

I'm from Australia but only really use Paypal and/or Clickbank.

Thanks WillR - I might be doing Clickbank again. Just 'cause its easy. Do you find more benefit in letting Clickbank handle your affiliate program or managing it yourself via DAP? Plus is there a way to sell via Clickbank but with a "custom order form" on your own site/style with Digital Access Pass?

It's not so much about what YOU prefer. You need to keep in mind what your affiliates prefer. I am certain a lot of affiliates would be more likely to promote a product that has an affiliate program run through a well known third party service as opposed to an inhouse one.

ClickBank does not offer a "hosted form" or even an "API" for third-party software and services to connect to them and process the payments.

You must redirect the buyer to their site, where the transaction happens, and then they are returned back to your site. No other way to do it.

PayPal is still the best payment processor for online transactions.
