Where do I install a video squeeze page in WP?

Hi Everyone,

I have never uploaded a video/squeeze page using Filezilla and I just can't figure this out.

I have a few different squeeze page examples, all with video, and the contents of each unzipped folder are usually the same (images folder/css folder/index.html). I've tried uploading the entire folder into WP-contents, then I tried uploading just the css style sheet or the index.html file directly into WP-themes. The upload works fine but then I can't find it in the WP admin panel.

Where exactly does all this stuff go?

Would love your help please.

Looks like you are completely out of your element. You would be well served by hiring someone to do this for you. There are systems/scripts you can use to do this so you don't have to do the coding yourself. Using Wordpress, you can use various plugins. I just acquired a great plugin that helps you setup landing pages easily. Instabuilder by one of the top Warriors on the forum. Even then, if you have not used WordPress, there is a learning curve.

If you just need an ocassional landing page setup, pay for it.. learning all the intricacies of making sure your page is cross browser compatible, using the right script so HTML5 and FLASH options are available depending on the user needs, is a pain. Well worth paying 10-50 bucks to just get it done and move on the business of making money.

Well, when you upload something to the wp-content folder, it won't just show up in your Wordpress admin dashboard somewhere. It seems like you may have the purpose of Wordpress a little confused.

In order to get something to show up as a page or menu item in the admin dashboard, you need a lot of code and it needs to be put into the correct places.

What you have are just static html files that likely don't work with Wordpress. They probably aren't designed to be used with Wordpress and will need to be edited with an HTML editor like Notepad++. Those squeeze pages are meant to simply be uploaded onto your server somewhere and then accessed.

So, suppose one of those folders for a squeeze page that you have is called 'squeezepage1'. If you upload that folder to your wp-content folder, the only way to access it would be by pointing your browser to

    http://yourdomain.com/wp-content/squeezepage1

You should be able to see your squeeze page by doing this, but it's not going to be interacting with Wordpress at all, you will just be viewing the static html file in a weird place on your server. So, if you want to use those squeeze page templates that you have, forget Wordpress for a moment and instead you should just upload that 'squeezepage1' folder to your root directory (meaning the directory where your index.php and wp-content, wp-admin and wp-includes all live).

Upload that folder to your root directory and you'll be able to point your browser to

    http://yourdomain.com/squeezepage1

and your browser will automatically point to the index.html file and you should see the squeeze page. If you're really interested in creating squeeze pages using Wordpress, check out my signature at the bottom of my post. That tool will really make your life easier - believe me!

Hmmmm...I called myself trying this and it did not work. I am truly a newbie at this, and recently I purchased a PLR product that included a minisite and squeeze page. I tried uploading the code into the GoDaddy file manager and then Filezilla. Still did not work for me. I do not know what to do now. Think I am going to head to Fiverr, but since I will need to upload many squeeze, sales pages and minisites, I really want to learn myself. :-( I am also thinking about purchasing the OptimizePress theme, but I have no list, no followers, no one to market to just yet, so I don't even know if now is the time for OptimizePress. Oh well, thanks for your insight.

Lots of interesting takes on question. Not a lot of good or sound advice. Try Fiverr as good as anything else.
