Exactly as Paul said, you just need your autoresponder to make it work

Yes bit.ly will work for the clicks. You will know how many clicks you got on each solo ad but conversions is really what you want. I would use email form and do a name change like Paul says so you will know exactly who your buyers are.

Bit.ly is not a good solution for email messages. This domain name was blacklisted one year ago by some important services (URIBL, Spamhaus, etc).

For the moment URIBL has removed it from their blacklists, but other services didn't do it. For example, bit.ly is still blacklisted by Spamhaus and is listed in their DBL (Domain Block List). See here: The Spamhaus Project - Blocklist Removal Center Results

Consequence: some of your emails will be routed directly to the spam folders. Don't use bit.ly in your emails!

Paul is right on the money here. This is the easiest way to track in my book.

(I spend thousands on solo ads for what it's worth..)

I also use Linktrackr. It's great to track conversion and to cloack affiliate link. It has a free wordpress plugin included. A good choice to track solo ads campaign.

    As Paul says above.

Plus I also clone any exit splash pages also with new aweber web form and if I'm using a one time offer or upsell I will clone this page also and create a copy of my Paypal button (just give it a unique id) so I can track where any sales have come from.

I then use a link shortener hosted on my site which gives me all traffic stats including the countries where the solo traffic has come from.

Loads of tracking information and simple and free to do.

I do it the same as Paul said - using segmenting in aWeber, so you get a new ad tracking code for each solo ad. I also run the link through pretty link, which doubly counts.

I've also heard about using a url shortener.

I've heard hypertracker and Ad Trackz Gold are pretty good too.

You should use a conversion tracker. I recommend adtrackzgold conversion tracker. You'll be able to set up a tracking link unique for every seller directed to the same landing page. Also, you can be able to track conversion, raw clicks, unique clicks, and opt-in rate. Tracker is a tool you must have if you're serious with list building business.
