Paypal Limited Account

I have gotten a paypal limited account for selling bodybuilding supplements that are too cutting edge for them I guess.

My question is can I be a internet marketer without paypal, I see a lot of the WSO offers accept paypal.

What are the better choices out there, google checkout???

Google checkout is not the same as paypal. Checkout is just a cart (if Im not mistaken)

Im not exactly sure how you can get your account limited for selling bodybuilding supplements, it sounds like you have left something out there.

If you look closely at what the OP mentioned I think you will get an idea of what he is leaving out.

He said "I have gotten a paypal limited account for selling bodybuilding supplements that are too cutting edge for them I guess."

Now, I am willing to bet that these "cutting edge" supplements are probably not FDA approved.

And because of that Paypal might look upon those supplements as drugs, or controlled substances.

You may not use the PayPal service for activities that:

      2. relate to transactions involving (a) narcotics, steroids, certain controlled substances or other products that present a risk to consumer safety,
If a "supplement" is not approved by the FDA then it is still considered a "drug" or "controlled substance" and not a supplement. But alot of people are not aware of this.

The OP has a few choices.

Contact Paypal and find out why his account was limited

Choose different supplements that aren't so "cutting edge" in the OP's point of view

Choose another service provider instead of Paypal

You need to check exactly why your account is limited. It can be because you have gone over a specific turnover within a given period - In this case you will simply need to provide some paperwork. If you give further details about why your account is limited I am sure someone will be able to advise.

As FirstSocialApps says, very strange that you will have been banned for those supplements so its necessary for you to be more specific - Certainly don´t think its because of anything being cutting edge - LOL.

There are other options, I don´t think it is 100% necessary to use PayPal, not everyone does.

You receive a notice that you're limited and start immediately trying to think of suggestions to get out of it completely? I do hope that's not you handle every situation that comes your way in IM or this business might be a rough one for you.

As for your account being limited, they don't just randomly spin a wheel or pick out products that are "too cutting edge" and limit the accounts of people who sell them.

    - High chargeback percentage rates can attribute to a limited account.
    - Too many disputes or claims can result in a limited account.
    - Selling a bulk amount of products from an unverified account/etc.

There are many reasons (and all are valid for security concerns) as to why PayPal might limit your account. The best thing you can do is to call them and ask for a representative to see why they have limited your account. It might be something minor and a quick phone call COULD solve it.

However, I feel there's more to this story than your products being "too cutting edge" for them.

Is it really that easy to just "make a new paypal" then? When you´ve just been limited in your account. A person is only allowed one account aren´t they? Surely PP will take a dim view of a limited account holder opening another?

I feel the best way is to resolve the issue.. unless the OP knows there is no way to resolve it.. in which case he must have been very naughty :-|

Uhh... as far as I was concerned, don't they track your social security or information and refuse to allow duplicate accounts?

If one account is already limited, I highly doubt making a second account to do business is the correct and responsible answer. Like I said, just call them. I've never had a problem with a representative on the phone and they're usually very quick.

I would definitely call PayPal and try to resolve whatever issue you are having with them. There is something that definitely went wrong somewhere. It may be very simple to fix - but you won't know if you don't ask.

RUN in the opposite direction -or- spend countless hours fighting a losing battle. Paypal has become quite a joke among the IM community (whether you're selling IM products or ANYTHING else). Years ago, we spent an insane amount of time fighting with the greed machine Paypal about our "limited account" - which, by the way, ended up being terminated. There is no method to their madness. Remember that the first rule of any game is to realize that you're in one. They don't need to tell you why you're account has been limited, suspended or terminated. They've fallen under Federal scrutiny and investigation several times because of this. A simple, yet surprising, Google search will reveal just how hated they are. There are sellers with 6 and 7 figures "held" by Paypal!

Here is what we did: waited.......waited.....and waited longer. Finally received our held funds months later. Meanwhile, we began using reasonable payment processors like 2Checkout, Clickbank, ACH, Amazon, any reputable CC processor offering AuthorizeNet. As long as your products/offers are clean and legit, you'll have no problem with those processors.

Sorry about your Paypal account but maybe it's best that you learn about them now....

    Best of luck!

PayPal is the most common payment processor and it's always a good idea to have an account just for whenever you might need it. Definitely give them a call and see if they can take a look at your account.

I hear people rag on paypal all the time and I do have my complaints about paypal myself however as of recently I've had to deal with their reps quite a bit and they actually can be somewhat helpful.

As for limited accounts could be you need to provide them more info such as link your account to a bank account, credit card, maybe confirm an address or a phone number.

The only other thing I can think of is some categories Paypal deems as a high risk category and is more stringent about how much turnover you can do in a month and other things. Not sure if bodybuilding supplies would be a high risk category.

The way you are so blase about moving on and looking for an alternative tells me you probably knew what you were selling wasn't really allowed on Paypal.

If that's the case then you will need to look hard to find a processor that does allow your type of products or you will be in the same position further down the track.

can you still contact paypal? its usually pretty easy to talk to them and get your account back.

aside from them i could suggest moneybookers.
