Domain name, sell or develop?

what is the name of the domain. If it is something in a niche that is highly sought after then yes, developing it with content then selling will pay off

Yes I would have a look to see which market it indicates, or whether it is generic; I would then try to find its organic position, i.e. in google, and base it on terms of that! a good organic position means more traffic.

Using that, either option is available to you; in the long run, you could probably make something off a good organic site, or you quick sell it for 'quick cash'; your long term profits will probably yield you higher payouts.

If I were you I would also check the prices of similar domain name sales at : DNJournal.com Year to Date Domain Sales Charts

The following sites give varying estimates that domainers use, but they don't consider the responses to be GOSPEL TRUTH... they just use it as a reference point for further investigating:

Then you can go to

and ask someone in one of the chat rooms what they think...

It's impossible to answer your question without knowing a bit about the business plan that might be put in place. Thus, knowing the domain name would go a long way...

The name is sciencetoy dot com.

I used to publish a newsletter on that subject, we were going to put it on the web but got busy with other things. So I have a lot of content I can dust off.

  If you develop it you can sell it for more. You can sell it on Ebay. People are looking for something with income and you can sell it for 3 to 12 months of the monthly income it generates. You don't even need to show very many months of income as proof elements.

If you had this domain for as long as you suggest and you've been offered money for it, then it's probably valuable.

I think if you develop the domain and sell it, you'll get substantially more. Of course since I don't know the niche I can't give potential numbers.

I love old domains! Google will love it too especially if it's had a bit of content on it all that time. Start to develop it and you'll be pleasantly surprised. I only sell domains that I get significant offers for.
