The best price for an impulse buy?

I'm looking to create an OTO that's more of an impulse buy, and I keep hearing $7, $9, or even $9.97...which gives the best results?

Your price should be related to the value of the product rather than what the "best price" for an impulse buy might be.

How would anyone be able to intelligently answer this without knowing the market, the product, the upsell...? C'mon, are you serious?

How about $1. I say that because a dollar has the lowest buyer resistance! Provide a lot of value for your dollar then have a upsell or cross sell to the main product on the other page! Good question

$1 is definitely the best price for an impulse buy, but it also will devalue the OTO in your consumer's mind. Often the lowest price possible can actually hurt you.

if you want them to think it's about as valuable as a McWhatever, then price it like a burger, but I think you'll have more success if you can raise the perceived product value and sell it for $10 or more. If the customer truly believes that they're getting a "great deal" they'll buy it.

    Best of luck!

If you want to see an impulse buy, check this offer out here.

$0.01 to get access. Who would pass up on that?

I read an article about a year ago that the number 7 suppose to be the most attractive number to buyers. 9 is too high and 1 seems too cheap but if there is 7 involved, it has some type of middle ground. Such as 7.95

    Hope that helps

One thing to keep in mind is that your OTO wil be measured against your original offer.

    All the best,

Hi, I just want to chime in as well and point out that selling "cheap" often leads people into believing the product is cheap, and at the end of the day don't cheapen yourself or your hard work, so Id personally not go below about $5 to $7 for a OTO designed to get people "in" the door initially, then nurture that customer (you will be getting their email address won't you )

Yeah you don`t really want to go lower than $5 otherwise it can have the opposite effect and people may think it`s worthless

I have always had good results keeping my front end offers around $5 - $14

I would not dream of having a front end offer of more than $17 for sure

Paul brings good points to the table.

I have always done well with $1 (yes its low but if you have subscribers its awesome)

    and also $7

These prices are my best performers.

Thank you very much everyone for the help. I think $7 does seem like a good starting point for what I have to offer. I like to think to myself, "If I wanted to buy something, $7 seems cheap, but $10 is way too much." Even though it's a mere $3 difference.
