Wow does time fly.

It seems I have finally hit my 3,000 posts. Thanks to Michael Mayo for reminding me otherwise I wouldn't have realized this little milestone for me.

Since I am nearing one eighth of Steven Wags post count and my birthday is tomorrow I asked fellow warrior Andy Henry what topic most new people have a problem getting their head around. Andy is well respected on this forum and he does understand what newer internet marketers are struggling with.

Well the topic he pm'ed me back with didn't surprise me because I had the same problem.

There are so many ways to make money on the internet. Sometimes we get too involved in the techniques that we forget what we are trying to accomplish which should be far more than just making money.

The difference between the successful internet marketers and the new person is a chosen business model. As Andy normally advises, it needs to be something that you can track and scalable.

So now I have a little contest. I want people to post some business models in as much detail as possible without giving any trade secrets away. Anything you can think of when it comes to your model of choice.

We will choose the 5 posts that a new person could easily start tomorrow with the greatest chance of success. Those 5 people will each get a copy of my Tiger Software Builder Express which retails for $97 per license. This will allow you to build your own real windows software, you can add banners, browsers, optin code for your lists, and even allow your customer to rebrand your creations.

It is very powerful and it can be yours for free with a great business model post. I don't want to put a link to the product page because this thread isn't about advertising that product.

We will pick the winners on Monday April 6. No posts on Monday will be counted.

After we are done we will create a pdf of the posts and give it out freely to anyone that would like help in one of the most important aspects of this business.

What got some quick sales for me was to pay for a listing on an ebook of the week site. They mail out to 500k+ members and you essentially pay for a listing in that email. You are 1 of maybe only a half dozen books featured. I used a viral ebook with affiliate links. You need to have a popular topic or you won't get clicked. The summary is key. It wasn't a good long term strategy for me since I barely made my investment back, but I did make some money in less than a week.

Great news, we got Andy Henry to judge this little contest.

Andy will pick the 5 people that will get the free license to TSB Express. If you already own it then you can get a copy to sell or give away to one of your customers.

OK. For the ultimate newbie here is Mubarak's pretty simple, but highly effective afffiliate marketing strategy:

    erm-hrm...

So, first off, you'll need to pick a niche. IM is an obvious one, however I would suggest that something you are passionate about or have experience with is good.

A good way to choose a hot niche that is almost guaranteed income is to go to google hot trends:

    http://www.google.com/trends

From there you can see the latest hot trends that people are searching for.

After cliking on a trend you can see a time graph, and some related searches.

You can also see some useful website results.

There are also some very surprising reults. For instance, South Africa searches the most for make money. You could very well use this to target specific loactions, and make the most uot of targeted geographic searches.

    NEXT...

Buy a domain. Now, forget what you hear about domain names. You CAN have dashes (-), and it does not HAVE to have your keyword in it, but it helps. Also, a .com is good, but if you have chosen a specific location (perhaps from google trends...) then you can also have extensions like .de(germany) .co.uk (UK) etc. Sometimes lesser known domain extensions, have big websites free, such as makemoneyonline.[geographic extension]

Next find some affilaite products. IM niches and most others have a lot of products in clickbank, however you can also use paydotcom.com, and comission junction.

Find products in your niche that have a high 'grav'. Those are the best selling products.

Now, you'll want to set up EITHER a blog OR a review site. However blogs and review sites can be mixed, and in fact sometimes that works quite nicely. I recommend wordpress.

Now, you'll need content. content, content content. Oh, and more content. You can use auto-feeders and auto-bloggers, however sometimes these can give irelevant posts, and it is easy to lose the 'value' of your blog.

Perhaps get some warriors to write up articles and reviews for ya.

Now, post your articles to EZA, with your blog link in the resource box.

On your blog, have that same article, with keywords linking to your affilaite products.

    RINSE & REPEAT

    Here are some helpful add-ons:

Get someone to spin articles for you, so that out of one article you can get 5. This highly inreases content and gives you a bigger chance of success.

Find blogs in a similar niche which do NOT sell anything, and ask if they can post your link in a blog post.

Use niche forums, and post your site in the sig. When on the forum, answer people's questions, and they'll click on your links because they know that you knwo your stuff.

Add an autoresponder to your blog to keep in contact with everyone. Offer a niche-related-reward, or NRR as a gift

And then finally there is my little secret.

    VIDEO MARKETING...

There are many video marketing pros on the WF, myself being one of them. HOWEVER, it is perfectly feasable to create a video yourself, advertising your blog's benefits. Just tell them where your blog is, and what info it offers for free. The post your url in the credits, in the description, and on youtube in the annotations.

Just be careful not to submit too many at once, or google may consider giving you a slap...

    Hi Thomas,

To help get things started here's one from me too.

It's the default one that seems to always be able to make sense in some form for almost anyone wondering if it's really possible to start out online and KNOW exactly what to do to grow your business.

    Running a business directory.

Now, I know there will be people that have considered this but found a ton of reasons why it couldn't work 'for them', so what I'll do is give some ideas about how to think about this so that you have a flexible model that you can work with.

The basic proposition as you can probably guess is that you create an online directory and monetise it in some way.

The usual options are to choose a niche or a geographic location and grab a yellow pages or similar and put a listing for every business you can find that fits. Then you contact these businesses and offer them an 'upgraded' listing. This can vary depending on the niche, but could include more detail, a picture etc.. Then the usual addition to that is a 'featured' listing where they pay more and get preferential placement in the order of the listings.

Most people stop there or at best consider running Adsense ads on the pages and then leave it at that.

Now, in itself that could still be a workable model.

Refering back to my 2 essential components - 1) Once you've started, you can get an idea for how many businesses you need to contact to get a new signup, and how many of those will upgrade to featured listings.
    2) it's completely scalable. You can add as many businesses as you like and it's very little work to handle 500 compared to 50. Once the initial info is put in, they're paying to keep it there. The more data you get about visitors and click-through rates, the more ammunition you have to justify your prices (or to raise them)

So it's a good model for those reasons.

Now let's address those skeptics who are saying "the businesses in MY area won't pay", or "there aren't enough of them to bother with".

That may be true but that's why you need to think outside the box a little at what other value you can bring to the table and that they WILL be bothered about and want.

As a newbie to IM, once you understand the basics of SEO and know how to setup a project on Elance (or any of the other outsourcing sites), you can pretty much make anything happen.

    So, let's consider one option:

Some of the businesses you contact don't have a website.

This is an opportunity - you are in a position to help them in several ways.

    a) you could create one for them and have them pay you.

Bare in mind that most companies pay several THOUSAND dollars for a half decent site. You have many ways to underprice and over deliver in this area.

    i) You could buy a template and populate it with their content.
ii) You could outsource the site on Elance
ii) You could just use a cms or blog platform and get a template created and then populate it with their content

    you get the idea.

    b) You could forget about the website and just provide them with an email system so that they can collect their customers details and send them offers to bring them back in at times where they're normally quiet.

(Note - this could be another layer to your offer if you did do a website)

(Note - If you did make them a normal site, you could offer a special 'blogging' package to give them that feature as an upsell)

    c) If they're not technical but would like to learn about it - you can offer them training (in whatever way suits you, workshops, seminars, webinars, teleseminars, you could create training or just sell them stuff you've bought the rights to)

    You get the idea?

I'm assuming that you can take this idea and run with it and include recurring costs for hosting, sem (articles, press releases, bookmarking, link building, etc.. etc.. - these are all on-going tasks), research, monthly reports (SERPS, pages indexed, number of links etc.)

I don't want to do all the thinking for you - but you get the idea.

There are LOTS of ways to provide value for businesses and you don't need many to get onboard to start making a decent living.

If you want to earn more money - get more clients, charge more for your services, add more revenue streams - the options are endless so you can tailor it completely to suit you.

Once you have a few customers you could even just employ other people to rinse and repeat your model and free yourself up from it.

I'm typing this off the top of my head so I now have 1000 other ideas in my mind, but I'll end the post here so you get to do some of the thinking for yourselves

Just think outside the box and this model can fit ANYONE.

Find one decent product with a solid sales page, good affiliate support and 'legs' (it will still be selling in a year's time).

Then find 5 competing products. You MUST buy all of them.

Build a website about your original product. Have 5 pages with comparative reviews. One page for each competing product.

So, for example, if you are promoting ABC Link Cloaker you will have

ABC Link Cloaker and XYZ Link Cloaker
ABC Link Cloaker and 123 Link Cloaker
ABC Link Cloaker and 456 Link Cloaker
ABC Link Cloaker and 789 Link Cloaker
ABC Link Cloaker and XYZ Link Cloaker

On each page there should be

        • Good versus bad points of the products
        • what level of expertise is needed (eg Xsitepro for beginners and Dreamweaver for more advanced people)
        • Screenshots of you using the product/the results you had or, if it's ad ebook, memorable quotes (short quotes, not copyright breaching chunks)
        • A video clip of you using the product.
        • Your affiliate link (kind of important)
What is the reasoning behind this?

Not everybody can position themselves as THE Twitter or THE SEO expert, but you can become the go to person for products related to different topics. And if you show that you have physically bought and used the products your credibility rating is going to be very good.

This is quite a lot of work but it is worth it. And once you have done this you can repeat the process with another product.

You can build a blog around it, a Twitter profile and even a list.

But you must buy the products and do the 'proof' videos.

    Hi Andy, Thomas,

    My idea is simple...

    1. Take a very catchy domain name.
    2. Apply a business model where a community contributes content.
    3. Limit the size of the community to very serious and success oriented participants.
    4. Develop local and global products that are customized by location and language.
    5. Then build a global business around it and share the success with the community.

Then move on to the next domain/business.

    Cheers,
    Sam

PS: I am very interested in your software. At times I like to use such software just to make demos and even show programmers what I mean. Can you please PM me the website/sales site? Thanks.

Yahoo is relatively easy to rank on the first page for keyword rich domain names. For example check out "get laid", "traffic to my website", or "yahoo pay per click" for examples. All have one of my sites on page one (along with several related keywords) and bring me some converting traffic on a daily basis. I even have gambling and real estate sites listed on page one.

This used to work better with MSN but lately yahoo is kicking butt with this method.

I have the pro software already so I'm not interested in the prize
but I have a business model to share.

I guess a business model can be a very complex thing - mine isn't.

I'm not even sure it fits the definition. It will seem dumb to people
    here I guess.

    Here its is:

    1. Generate leads online with advertising

    2. Call them on the phone.

    3. Then sell 'em stuff.

Emails help to make the process more persuasive.

These days a lot of folks are going through a lot of pain trying to avoid
the time-tested proven selling method of talking to people and learning
what makes them tick. Sure - you can create a business where you
are totally anonymous and poke buttons on your computer - but when
you consider the many benefits of building a business around real
relationships it's clear to me that being an anonymous web marketer
is both a harder path and short-sighted unless you have some sort
of unibomber thing that makes you a sociopath who cannot work with
anybody or be cool to do business with.

I have browse your site about the software and it is impressive. It is definitely good to have a hold of the license you are offering.

For IM business, I believe this is what I will do and in time, it will be successful.

      1. Create a video site.
      2. Find a niche product you want to promote from Clickbank.
      3. Key to success is affiliates, make your video site to share profit with clickbank - at least 50/50 sharing
      4. Write some good articles and submit to article directories
      5. Participate in forums with signature
      6. If budget permits, use adwords or other PPC.
      7. Setup blog to write reviews or related articles daily

As usual, you must continue doing articles and soon you will see some results.

Okay, I will go ahead and lay out the building blocks to what I personally think is the easiest way to get started making money online.

For the past year I have been doing "licensing" online to cash in using other people's products, websites and even their own list.

To be able to do licensing, all you need to have is something of value that you can license out to others in exchange for a fee.

Personally, I use a set of email campaigns that convert sales like crazy.

So, I will explain my method using the email campaigns as the example.

What I do is go find online business owners. People that have a product of their own whether it be a physical or digital product; whether it be listed on Clickbank or not have any kind of affiliate program at all.

I make sure they are building a list, whether they are using a sqeeze page or even just a fly-in or in-line form on their sales page.

I then contact them and tell them a little about these email campaigns and what kind of numbers they produce. Once they contact me back, we arrange to run the promotion w/o them paying me up front... I just receive a cut of their sales that are generated from this campaign.

Not only have I made a lot of money from this, but I have had the chance to build a lot of great relationships in a ton of different markets online. It has also led to more things such as JV Brokering and Lead Generation deals.

    Happy Birthday Thomas.

Andy's idea can be reused a number of ways as directories are a great way of building sites and making money from them, so think directories.

One way to create a business is to use PLR.

Take a look at your hard disk and find something in a niche you want to go into. Maybe you have a number of products you can use.

Once you have decided on the niche, then buy a keyword rich domain name.

Create a blog using one of the free templates or buy a template which you can modify.

If you have any PLR headers use one that is relevant to your new blog.

Now go through your PLR and break them down into small chunks.

    Post them using the calendar.

Find relevant products to promote through your blog, amazon, clickbank, commission junction, ebay.

Let people know when you make a new post using twitter, facebook and other social sites.

One very simple model, one that costs a small amount of money, and you can add to it when you find more PLR material for that niche.

    Hey Thomas,

My birthday too! (assuming you're April 3rd also?) You can check my profile for my age. LOL. Anyway, I'll wish BOTH of us Happy Birthday!

So, here's a biz model that works and is dead simple...

    LOCAL LEAD GENERATION

What you're going to do is target service businesses (Plumbing, Electricians, HVAC, Landscaping, etc.) and offer sales leads IN REAL TIME. Here's the twist though. You'll also be building an autoresponder list in your local market at the same time!

    - First put up a blog related to the local service businesses mentioned above (I recommend it's own generic local market domain).

    - Pull together some PLR (since this is offline you don't really need to spin it) and create a FREE report to download. This can also be your blog content.

    - Get traffic to these blog(s) which is easy. Usually one or two articles and DIGG them for quick indexing.

Now, get your local newspaper, weekly shopper, ValuePak coupons pack, PennySaver, etc. and call these businesses offering REAL TIME sales leads. If they're advertising locally already then they have money to potentially spend with you. Offer 5 FREE leads to get them started with no obligation.

Charge anywhere from $10 - $25 a lead once they convert to a customer. You should be able to convert 2 out of 10 businesses.

Now, go to your Aweber account. This is where you can deliver leads in REAL TIME. What you do is when the client downloads your eBook after opting in to YOUR LIST you then use the e-mail forwarding to feature to right in Aweber. This "lead" is now forwarded directly to the business 24/7/365.

Two things happen. The person gets free info on the service they're interested in and they'll have someone follow up with them about the service. You obviously have to be very upfront that they'll be getting a call from a local business and that the opt-in is basically an inquiry.

What's great about this model is you're not only building your own list to monetize later (CPA offers, etc.) but you're selling the lead to a local business. You can also leverage this by contacting 3 same competing businesses and use the e-mail forwarding feature in Aweber for real time delivery. You're then selling the same lead 3 times! Again, you need to have full disclosure. Your opt-in form should have a box to enter their phone number to be contacted

Another way to monetize is once you build your list(s) in all these service businesses you can go back to the businesses and offer to mail to your list for a flat fee or even a commission for any sales closed.

You can also advertise cheaply in the very same papers your domain and compete directly with the businesses for the lead.

There's so many ways to go with this it's too much to list here but this should get one started.

    Thanks for reading,
    Dennis

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone. Happy birthday to you Dennis.

Here is something I used successfully in the past and you can do it with either ebooks or software you create with your new license. If I really want to sell this than I create a sales page with graphics.

I gave away or sold resell rights to software.

Within the software I sometimes put banners and display websites. I can change the websites by using a redirect but it also allows me to test how many people are coming to that page.

I can scale it pretty easily by creating more products to give away or find more people to give the current resell products away. That is easy just by contacting people within your niche that may want to give it away as a complimentary item to a offer they may have.

You would be surprised at how many people want a quality product to just give away to their niches.

I can get them into my sales funnel through those resell right products.

Please keep the posts coming. I think we all can benefit from this.

      My tip:
      Become a Product Producer

We all sell information. This is cool since the digital delivery means it is fast and you get paid at once, digital delivery is good for the environment and demands little investments to try out new ideas and methods.

Most noobs (myself included) start out with a site, add adsense, and plug away att collecting and posting something. Many find clickbank which is a great market for affiliate deals and add some of those to their site. While all of this is perfectly ok and CAN make you loads of money, there is a higher level of satisfaction every time you sell something that YOU have created. And- every time your ego is boosted by such a sale, your motivation gets a dose of more fuel.

Motivation is one of the key factors (in anything you do) that decides whether you will continue, work harder, and become successful. It is all too common to be plugging away at those lame blogs in an attempt to uphold the drowsy visitor flux that generate under a dollar a day (why do I still do that?) If you are in it for the money, this is a waste of time. You are probably also searching the web, and getting affiliate offers in your mailbox and going back and forth and information-overloading yourself and spreading yourself super low-fat thin over all kinds of projects, none which ever gets your full attention and power... Stop. Rework your plan. Decide on a narrow path. Follow it through. Evaluate.

So, back to creating your own product. A product in our case is anything that can be "packaged" and delivered in digital format. It does not have to be about "How I made 20.000 dollars in one month with adsense". If you are an IM noon, don´t write about IM stuff. If you are testing the waters and starting out you are better adviced to write about, collect, assemble, things close to your heart and stuff you really know.

Your first product might be a how-to e-book about how to dominate counter-strike, or how to catch the biggest fish, or how to get free admission to super-bowl (that would be huge seller on season), or it might be digital goods - like 20 wordpress templates that you created with artisteer com or if you do images/photography, create some cool headers and graphics and sell those. The point is - if starting out, do it about something you already know to minimize the difficulty in getting it done... so that it ever gets done.. and saving some time to looking after the setup of payment / delivery /marketing etc.

Do not start your carreer with Public license stuff. Write, assemble, create your own material. It is good for the ego and it will sell better since you can market it as unique. If you have PLR stuff, you can give it away on your site in exchange for their mail adress or include it as a bonus to sweeten your own product.

Your own stuff should make up the majority of the total package. Why? Because if you really have something new - even if it is not a new idea, then it has value on our market that is replete with regurgitated (re-barfed) PLR material. Obviously, you could create your own PLR material or MRR ( check www articlesbase com/ecommerce-articles/plr-mrr-and-rr-explained-299404.html) and go that way.

If you are creating an e-book the simplest way is to write it in word and export to PDF with PDF995 com or some other shareware. Make a zip file, upload and sell it for 10 or 15 bucks. You can deliver it yourself after payments from paypal - setup a veryfied account and you are ready to go. Or you can join e-junkie com and/or clickbank com who both offer affiliate management tools.

If any of your Personally Produced Products take off, even a little, take a step up the ladder and create a new product that describes how you did it. Work on this one a bit more, give more value, hype it more, create landing / sqeeze pages like I am sure you have seen lots of and raise your pricepoint a bit.

The better your landing pages are, the more bonuses you have etc, the easier it will be to get affiliates - specially if you create some banners they can use to market your "how I made 300 bucks in one week with my ninja-bass-fishing guide". Always give your affiliates a very generous chunk of the pie.

All the gurus started with something, often a very modest attempt. An attempt is all it takes, it can be your ticket to foundations, stepping stones, massive empires, or just some extra cash for not too much work. Whatever you do, it will take work, but once that is done the cash (1 dollar a day or 100) rolls in pretty much by itself.

I believe it is easier to get a teste for the business, get motivated and succeed if you sell a product of your own creation since it will be "your baby" and you are more likely to nurture and expand it and enjoy every time it generates a couple of bucks.

Last note: do some math. Monthly basis. If you sell your product for 15 bucks, you need to sell 66.6 units (about 2 a day) a month to bring in 1000 bucks (minus some transaction costs). If you have 10 affiliates that you have attracted by giving them 75% of the pie... and they only work one fourth as hard as you do... they will still be putting 622.5 dollars on your table for the month. But that is less than 1000? Yes, but they did the work while you dedicated yourself to getting more affiliates or creating your next product, or lapping sun on the beach.

Assume you manage to get another 10 affiliates the next month.... those 20 soldiers will be gathering 1245 dollars for you on the month...

Build, expand, become a Field-Marshal of your own army. It is not un-doable.

        Hi Everyone,

I just got back into town from a weekend away from the computer.

I was hoping we had some more posts since I was gone but still had some very nice models that people can use right now.

Since the amount of posts was lower than expected, I just decided to give everyone that posted a business model a copy. Everyone that posted a business model, please pm me your first, last and email address. I will then send you a link to create an account where you can log in and download the latest version at any time.

        Thanks again,

            Thanks Martin.

I would also like to add it works perfectly with what X teaches in his Affiliate Black Book which I recommend. It is a great course.

P.S. I am still sending out download links through pm. Please be patient because of the time limit between pm's.
